I can't help but notice that the people *****spond to this question are only eating 3-4 times a day. Only 1 snack. I cannot imagine a day when that would be the case for me. Am I abnormal? I have a pretty good appetite. I know sometiems I am still eating out of boredom. I don't know how to control that. I am in therapy but it is not helping. I eat 3-5 snacks a day and 3 meals. My surgeon told me to eat every few hours. I am getting in roughly 900-1200 calories a day. My weight loss has been very slow over the last 2 months I have been hovering around 163-165 for the past few weeks. How is everybody else's wt loss. Is everybody slowing? I think I lost about 9-10 lbs in the last 2 months but for the last few weeks it has not been moving. I drink water, take vits, and do protein supplements. Exercise is something I know I have to work on. With me being exhausted all the time i don;t know how I am gonna do it. I just joined the YMCA and hopefully that will give me a boost.

As far as weight loss goes, mine has slowed dramatically. Part of it is my lack of exercise, part of it, I think, is just normal. I typically only lose about 5-6 pounds a month, usually in the week to 10 days before my surgery. The rest of the time I stay pretty much stable. It's frustrating, but it is what it is. I'm curious how much you're eating at one time because I only eat 3-4 times a day (3 meals and usually 1 snack) and am getting around 1000-1200 calories, so you must be eating much smaller meals than I. I think what works best for one person may not work for another. My Nut has me on 3 meals, 5-6oz and one snack daily. In another month or two, my protocol allows me to add an additional snack. I think you're doing just fine, in my humble opinion. We can't expect to keep losing at the same rate we were at a month out - we'd all be stick people!

sTEF I can totally relate to you, my weight loss has slowed dramatically, especially around the 6 month mark, I think that I eat as frequently as you, however my exercise had been nil till a week ago. I do well with protein and vitamins, and half the time when I put something in my mouth, it is sheer boredom, so what I am trying to focus on is eating only when necceassary.

Stefanie, I've slowed to losing about 8 to 10 lbs a month. I do exercise 6 days a week for 1 hour a day. I eat about 1400 calories a day. 3 meals plus 2 to 3 snacks. I still have a whole lot to lose, so I don't think you can compare yourself to me. But, I do have to give the "big ups" for exercise. I go every morning at 5:30 am, because if I don't do it in the morning, I just don't do it. It was so hard the first couple of months, but, now I can't get through my day without it. I work with a personal trainer once every 6 weeks and he gives me a new routine, so it stays very challenging and interesting. I have been pretty religious about this for the last 4 months...I was total sedentary before that. So, if I can do it, anyone can! I do find I have to go to bed early at night though. Oh the weight loss has been realllllllllly slow over here. Since Christmas I've been limiting myself with my snacks. I can eat up to 3 snacks a day along with 3 meals but have cut back hoping that will help out a bit. I was looking at my log and I've lost 5 pounds in the past almost 7 weeks. I'm roughly 10 pounds to my goal so I'm thinking it's going to be slow as molasses from here on out...but ya never know! I do want to start something new: walking up the treadmill 20-30 minutes a day at the highest incline. Apparently, Carmen Electra swears by it and she does look pretty darn hot...sometimes a little skanky too . Oh, I also can go hours without hunger striking me. My hunger has never returned to what it was pre-op. I feel like sometimes I need to really make myself eat. Good luck with the Y.

I eat 3 meals/3snacks fro about 1000 to 1200 cal per day.... My wt loss has really slowed too... 2 lbs this month.. however part because we have soooooooo much less to lose... ( i have 25 more till my personal goal of 150) Am trying to get more water and protein in as well as shake up the exercise routtine.... I really dont do "formal" exercise... I take all the stairs in the train stations and at work.... I leave my house at 5:40 and am not home unilt 5:30 so by the time I make dinner, dishes, homework, baths and try to find some cuddle time wtih hubby Im exhausted... Sure hope some of that counts as exercise... However am going to ge my dumb bells out of the closet and use those while Im sitting or standing around... good luck to us all Karen 260-176(or 175)150

Hey, Stef... I eat 6-7 times a day. I have 3 protein shakes and 3 meals. Sometimes I'll have a small snack thrown in there too. I eat something every 3-4 hours. This works great for me... keeps my blood sugar nice and level. I lost 4 lbs last month so things took a big drop for me. And it seems like I lose nothing for a few weeks and then *wham* I'm down 3 lbs or so. Seems like this is becoming a trend. I've heard people say that happens. We just joined a new gym tonight. They officially open late next week. Rich is going to get up really early in the a.m. to go with me. I need the umpf and support. I really want to work on rebuilidng lost muscle. I know this the 100+ lb loss...guaranteed I have lost muscle. How are your labs? When did you last have them done? Any chance of anemia or low B-12 to explain your exhaustedness? Kathy

My labs were done on Dec and I requested a copy for myself to review and everything is indeed normal. I ever requested a thyroid check and it is all normal but if I didn't see the blood work I would swear my thyroid was underactive because I am extremely sensative to the cold, extreme fatigue, loss of libido, slight depression. But I guess those could be nonspecific symptoms. Maybe I should consider using a protein drink as a snack. It's just that I (STILL) look forward to eating and like to eat a variety of foods. Anyway, thanks for the replies everybody.

I type my lab values into a table in a MS Word document (don't have spreadsheet software at home). Allows me to see trends even if a value isn't abnormal - if I see it heading south that is good information to have! I get a copy of EVERYTHING so I can see for myself. Kathy
