The End of 2005

Just thinking a bit today about what a year it has been. Has this not been the most unforgetable year of your life???? It sure has been to me. Jan. 05 - Psy Eval and Sleep Study Feb. 05 - Submitted to insurance March 05 - Denied April 05 - Did my own appeal and WON!!! May 05 - Had open RNY micropouch - Walking around the block June 05 - What a LOSER - Walking up to two miles a day July 05 - Walking 3 miles a day... and coughing like crazy August 05 - Still coughing but down 71 pounds Sept. 05 - Gone to more docs about cough, blew out abd. muscle into a hernia Oct. 05 - Starting to notice deteriating health... but into a size 12 jean!! Nov. 05 - Six months post op, down 101 pounds!! Dec. 05 - Really sucky month. Spent 12 days in the hospital. Very dehydrated, malnutritied, and ill. Will have surgery first of year to fix hernia and remove staples from pouch!! Down 116 lbs!!! WOW - I sure never would have dreamed this time last year that I'd be sitting here today in a size 8 jean and 4/6 top!!!!!! Absoultely unbelievable. So - Let's Here About Your 2005!!!!!! Laurie

Great Post Laurie! 03/08/05-Information seminar. 3/17/05- Surgeon consult with Dr.Ward 3/25/05-Psych Consult 03/28/05- Nutrition Consult 04/11/05-Approval phonecall while walking in the airport on the way to DISNEY WORLD 05/02/05- Surgery Date 05/09/05-1st post op -13 pounds down 06/10/05 1 month 23 pounds down 08/14/05-Puerto Rico with a size 14 bathing suit-60 pounds 09/05-weight loss really slowed down, but was complimented by my brother 10/05-stopped exercising, stopped losing 11/05-no loss 12/05-got back on track and started losing and exercising and let me just tell you, I will see goal in 06! It will be fabulous

Alright, let's see... January 05 - Finally quit pouting and put together my appeal packet after being denied in Sept. 04, and started back to college Feburary 05 - Pulled my hair after Aetna LOST my appeal and hand delivered it to their office March 05 - Approved! April 05 - Nerves set in, surgery a month away May 05 - tests, tests, more tests and surgery June 05 - Down 31.5 pounds in a month! July 05 - Size 20! August 05 - Rode rollercoasters with my son... Diagnosed with cervical cancer September 05 - Tubes tied and cancer removed! October 05 - WONDERLAND!!! November 05 - I'm only "Overweight"! December 05 - I'm down 110 pounds, in size 12 pants (could possibly do 10s) and survived Christmas!

Consult with surgeon, surgery date scheduled for 5/24/05 05/06/05 ..... Received insurance approval letter 05/09/05 ..... Pre-op bloodwork 05/19/05 ..... PCP denied surgery for 5/24 due to low iron Surgery rescheduled for 5/31 pending results fron colonoscopy 05/24/05 ..... Original surgery date - colonoscopy instead 05/26/05 ..... PCP okays surgery 05/31/05 ..... SURGERY DAY 06/05 ..... Husband and I apply for first home loan - APPROVED 06/08/05 ..... 1 week post op visit, down 10 lbs. 06/22/05 ..... 3 week post op visit, down 20 lbs. 07/05 ..... House hunting 07/20/05 ..... 6 week post op visit, down 30 lbs. 08/24/05 ..... 12 week post op visit, down 45 lbs. 08/29/05 ..... Closed on our first home 10/01/05 ..... In new home 10/14/05 ..... Grandma had heart attack 10/26/05 ..... Adopted puppy 11/06/05 ..... Down 70 lbs. 11/16/05 ..... Began new job after nearly 2 years without! 12/01/05 ..... 6 month post op visit, down 79 lbs. 12/30/05 ..... 6 months, 4 weeks, and 1 day post op, down 86 lbs. 308/222/180, 42 lbs. to goal Here's to a new year, a new me, and looking forward to joining the century club! Congrats on your new home, Diane! How exciting. I am hoping and praying to be able to be seriously house hunting in late '06 or early '07.
