WOW moment, even when I'm sick
I have two WOW moments to share.
One: I'm laying in the hospital feeling horrible. In walks the doctor and a nurse. The nurse makes conversation and asks me if I have any kids. I tell her yes, I have six kids. "SIX KIDS" she says back at me. She then looks at the doctor and says, "She's way too small to have had six kids"!!!! Wooo Hooo, there's a wow I never DREAMED of hearing.
Two: We got a membership at our local recreation center for the family for Christmas. Problem was my bathing suit was a size 24W last year. And this is NOT the time of year to go shopping for one. WalMart had some but they were cheap and had no "support" in them at all. NOT happening for me!!! So we tried Dunham's Sports Shop. They had a couple to try. I got a solid black one with built in bra in a size 10!!!!!! Probably could have done the size 8 but they didn't have any. Now my LEGS look HORRIBLE!!! Baggy saggy thighs!! So I bought a pair of shorts to wear over them. Put it all on and BAAM!!!!! Dang I looked GREAT!! My daughter said, "Wow Mom, you look skinnier in this" It was great. So off to the rec center we went. I wasn't strong enough to swim at all, but I played in the water with the kids for a while. It was so great to go and just feel "normal". Over 1/2 the women there were bigger then me. I used to be the BIG one in the pool. OH WHAT A GREAT FEELING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Laurie - who's arms now ache from typing and is going to take a nap.
Laurie: I'm so glad you're feeling well enough to get out and about. Those are both great "wow" moments! I know what you mean about the thighs. This is a disgusting fact, but the skin at the top of my thighs looks suspiciously like scrotum skin. EEEEEEEWWWWWW!!!!!!! But, I will take the sagging skin any day over my former large self! I hope you continue to do well. I have followed your difficulties here on the May board and you have been in my prayers. Have a good nap!
