Carbonation anyone?

Hey howdy hey! Okay, who has experimented or been allowed diet sodas/carbonation?? When I met with my nut last I asked if and when I could and she said I could every now and then but it would be to my advantage to let it sit a little bit; however, if I REALLY wanted an ice cold diet coke it wouldn't hurt to treat myself. Now I did have "some" ginger ale in my mixed drink at the party but it was very little. I've always been a rule follower and it's paid off tremendously so I would love your input. Let me know if you've had some and how was your experience. I've heard some can't take the bubbles. Ana

I find that I really don't like the bubbles anymore, I prefer the non carbonated drinks now. Once in a while I'll have a beer, but I stir it like heck first! lol

Ana -- I drink diet Sprite Zero with no sugar and no caffeine and have no trouble with the carbonation. I don't guzzle it, but I don't guzzle anything anymore. I don't drink it everyday but when I want the zip of a soda, that satisfies my craving. Dawn

While at work from 7pm to 7am I need some caffination!! I pour a Diet Coke into a cup and stir it with a coffee stirrer til about all the bubbles are out...then drink it up. I haven't had any trouble. I have about 1-2 6oz in 12 hours.

I admit to indulging a couple of times a week with Diet 7-Up (now that it is with splenda!) I find I get tons of gurls and tons of belches with the soda. I've been doing this quite a while and I had my endoscopy last month and no stretching here. I would just say... like all other things... moderation. Kathy

Ana I have to admit having a diet soda once in a while too. Only trouble is all the burps and noises rolling around inside...like it's alive ;) But it is nice to have sometimes . It doesn't have the same attraction that it had pre-op tho. Guess I've fallen in love with the Crystal lt. drinks especially the peach tea and sunrise orange. ...thinking of doing a recepie with the rasberry punch and lt. cranberry juice and cinnamon red hots for the holiday parties. I have indulged in a diet/caffine free Dr. Pepper a few times recently. Nothing major. In fact, when I bought my last 20oz bottle, it lasted for two weeks. My son said that it was like a 2 liter for mommy's small stomach . Heather 267/174/155

My surgeon released me for carbonated drinks at 6 months, as long as they don't contain caffeine or aspartame (Equal). I especially like Talking Rain sparkling water. Eileen

Ana, My surgeon and nutritionist are adamant that I do no carbonation ever! They say it is the sure fire way to gain the weight back...I just don't know. Lori

I think I have a Diet Pepsi about once a week. I open the can and let it sit for about 10 min before I even try it. You have to take it really slow at first. It makes me burp like no other
