PLEASE talk to your doctor. Pregnancies do happen that early, but most doctors and ALL literature I've seen recommends waiting 18 months post-op. That's best for you and especially a new little life. Dawn

The doctor I'm assuming will say wait until a year out or so, but I have read on here of people getting pregnant at a month out or so. And everything is going ok for them. So its up to you, the doc may wanna know tho that you would like to start trying. LOL! ~April~

Michelle, check out the forum called post-op pregnancy. It may be a huge support for you in your decision making process. Chatting with those who have 'been' there will help alot. Best wishes, Mary

Even thought people have gotten pregnant and had very healthy babys at various points even early post-op, why put extra risk on you and your baby? I know many doctors say 18 months to 2 years post-op...but personally, if I were of age to have a child... I would wait at least til at least my weight stablizes. Good luck! Kathy

I am a little over 7 months post-op and I am going to start trying next May, when I am a year post-op. My surgeon already gave me the thumbs up, he said I am doing excellent with my weight loss. But women do get pregnant at various stages of weightloss, so I guess the end decision would be up to you. Good luck! Stacy 34/203.5

Hello Michelle My surgeon told me I should wait untill at least one year post op before I got pregnant. I have decided to wait longer since I have more to lose. I say at one year if you are happy with your weight loss go for it. Most people who get pregnant earlier than one year do it by accident or so I have heard. I hope you make the best decision for your self just remember it is harder right now on your body this close out mainley because you are not eating a lot and the fetus will take what it needs first. Have a great christmas. Brenda
