85 lbs and some milestones...

I'm an obsessive person. That's how I got obsessed with food, and that's why I'm always comparing my progress to other people's. All in all, I was hoping to lose a little more, a little more quickly, but just listen to this: Started out at 405.5. Am now 318.5. That's more than 85 lbs. I realized last week, as I weighed myself on the enormous contraption that I affectionately call my industrial cow scale, that I could now go to the store and buy a cute scale if I wanted -- most go up to 330 lbs... what a long time it's been since I could do that! Yesterday I ran out of clean clothes (it's been too crazy to do laundry) and in desperation tried on a pair of pants from the back of the closet that was too small when I bought it 2 years ago. It's a slightly small size 28, and at the time of surgery I was about a 32-34, and am still wearing those pants. The 28s slid on beautifully, and you know what that means?? It means I can shop at the mall! Like a normal person! I can't imagine what I'll think when I fit into a size 14 and can really fit into cute clothes... Hope all my other maysters are rockin' it Love from Massachusetts, kate 'shrinking violet'

Congratulations, Kate! You are doing great! The less you weigh, the less weight it will take before you can move into a smaller size so hold on for a wild ride! Those 28s are meant for long. Best wishes, Kathy

Dear Kate, I have probably passed you in the halls of BWH. I had Dr. Lautz as well. I'm very happy for you. We are both having great success in this Journey. I've been stock piling clothes. Do you want some 26's, 24's, 22's, and 20's?... I'm using 18's for everyday and 16's when I don't need to breath. I have quite a few "office" outfits and some holiday wear, as well as misc. (bathing suits, jama's,....) Let me know. I offered these up before, but it seems that we are all shrinking so quickly that my delay made me miss the boat on some people. I sent quite a bit to a friend in FL that was working with the Katrina relief effort. But I was born to shop so still cleaning out the closets. Kate Z

Kate, What you've done is fantastic! Remember, also that most of us quote our pre-surgery weight loss as well as our post surgery weight loss. I lost 20 lbs pre-op and 92 since...see what I mean. You'll be in size 14 before you know it! Lori 384/272/170

Lori, I had some computer problems a while back. Was it you that I was going to send clothes to?... I did send some to Lisa Smith, but she's soo tall that a lot of my stuff won't fit her. I really have quite a bit left. If you're interested, please email me size and address. I don't know why I think that we all started at the same place.... mental block... no... teenagers... they take most of my functioning brain power. Kate Z 313/223/125
