Early Seven Month Update

Full of Life

I'm 11 days from being seven months out but I couldn't wait til then. I'M NORMAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Normal weight that is (lol) I'm no longer morbidly obese, or overweight, I'm now in the normal range of weight for my height!!! WOW O' WOW Absolutely incrediable that in less then seven months I went from morbidly obese to NORMAL! That's all the good news, the not so good news is as follows: 1. I'm dizzy all of the time, and I've started passing out. I'm pale as a ghost and have NO energy what so ever. (hence the reason I haven't been on here in a while). Surgeon is thinking that I'm having some kind of sugar problem and some kind of anemia problem. We're running some test to see what my vitamin levels are and my insulin level. 2. My neuropathy is confirmed my a neurologist. But he wasn't interested in finding out WHY I have it, he just wants to "try" physical therapy and see if it gets any better! HELLO - not good enough!!! I want to STOP this from happening to my other leg, arms, and other parts of my body.... DUH!!! So I am going to Detroit for a second oppinion on that. 3. My hernia is acting up something major. I haven't eatten in a week now. I get so nausiated when I do, and my hernia is causing me a good amount of pain. Surgeon said I probably wont find relief from this until we fix the hernia. But right now I'm too weak to go through surgery, so we're forced to wait. So, that's my update. I've looked through some posts here and I'm glad to hear of everyone's sucess stories!!! Hugs, laurie

Good Mornin', So sorry you are having so much trouble. Did they ever have you start B-12 shots? It is a great help in the energy dept. for many post-ops. I also find a trace mineral called Molybdenum to be a fine source of a boost in energy. It is a {chealate} which means in Greek, like a crab's pinchers grabbing toxins and removing them. My doctor says it is one of the best liver cleansers. The liver can get bogged down with toxins and this helps clear them out of the body. It is a harmless mineral and can be found at the Vit. shoppe for about $5.85 . I take one (always with food) in the am. It's not a good idea to take at nt. , ...my son tried it and was up all nt. Treating the neuropothy w/ physical therapy is a good idea while they figure out how to resolve the other many health issues. It may coax the body into remembering what it is wired to do. You are in my prayers and will remain so. By the way congratulations on the new status of being in the NORMAL rage for hgt and wgt. ! Quite a victory gal!!! Try not to be overwhelmed with all these other things, I know it is hard. We care about you. Mary

Laurie, So sorry you're not feeling terribly well. I love seeing your smiling face on the boards! I hope that your dizziness subsides and they determine what is causing your neuropathy. Big, big, big congrats on the NORMAL rating though!!! I don't think I've ever qualified as normal in my life! Hopefully sometime in the next year I will though. Take care!! ~Wanda

I am sorry to hear about your ongoing problems, Laurie. I hope a doc in Detriot will take a more proactive approach to your neuropathy. You will remain in my prayers and congrats on your success! Hugs, Tracy
