Hey everyone, As you know, the holidays are approaching and I was wondering if anyone knew any sugar free alcoholic drink recipes?? I don't tolerate sugar very well at all, don't drink anything with carbonation, and can't drink it if it doesn't taste good. So that pretty much leaves me high and dry! LOL I haven't missed sweets and the holidays haven't been hard at all but there are some parties coming up that I will be going to and I would like to be able to feel like a "normal" person and have one drink. I tried searching on the web and found nothing. Any suggestions??? Amy 275/164/134

There are several Crystal Lt. flavors in the to-go packets. Walmart has them in their own brand and Giant Food also. Peach tea is my favorite. They are tiny and portable so maybe having a drink with soda water and whatever liquor you prefer and discreetly adding your mini-packet to flavor it how you like. Mixes easily. ( very sweet and each pkt. is enough to sweeten 20 oz. liquid) maybe only 1/2 pkt for a 10 oz. glass. M

Thanks so much for that response!! Only problem with that though is I don't drink anything carbonated! So that nixes the soda water thing for me! I love those Crystal Lite to-go packets though! They are awesome!

Can you tolerate fruit juice? How about a Vodka Cranberry? Or, if that doesn't work, how about a Bloody Mary?

I honestly don't know if I can tolerate fruit juice or not. I haven't tried it because every one I have looked at has enormous amounts of sugar (something that really suprised me!!). I suppose I could get those low-carb versions of fruit juice and try mixing those with something though! I never thought of that! I've never had a Bloody Mary. What does that taste like and how do you make it? I can tolerate V8 juice and tomato juice without trouble so that just may work for me! Thanks for your input!

We have a Better Nutrition store in Las Vegas, and I have seen mixers for margaritas and pina coladas that are sugar free. I don't know what type of sugar is in alcohol. Angie

Amy, I'd try a little alcohol straight before you spend any cash on mixes. Alcohol by composition is a complex sugar. You may not be able to tolerate a toot.... Good luck. This Summer I made a Cape Coder with CL ruby red and Orange and a jigger of vodka. It was tart and yummy. Kate

Bariatriceating.com has sugar free drink mixes. All you add is the alcohol. Happy holidays! Dawn

Amy, On the occasion that I want to have a drink, I get a small shot of vodka in a very large plastic glass of ice water and add crystal light lemonade to it. It tastes great! Just be sure to sip slowly or it will bite you in the booty! I get liquored up really easily. Good luck, Sonja
