So very sad...

Rich and I adopted two darling, just lovely kitties this weekend. Saw them over Thanksgiving weekend and got approved to be their parents and we brought them home yesterday. Gosh, derned it... I'm allergic. Been runny nosed, itching and wheezing since. I grew up with a cat, had a cat for 14 years on my own. He passed away almost 3 years ago. Now...poof...allergies. The gal from the rescue league just came to pick them up to take them back. My heart is just broken. They were only with us one day but what cool cats. Very personable and affectionate and active. In tears... Kathy

Kathy, Sorry you were unable to keep your adorable kittens, but I'm glad you realized you were allergic right now, rather than after you'd given them a home for a few weeks. Hang in there and I hope you can find another pet that will be a better match. Take care, Wanda

Yea, Wanda... Best to let them go. I think we'll wait on another pet. We still have partial custody of the dog. LOL! My ex and I share her. It's nice to have her around for a few weeks every couple of weeks. She is a sweetheart. She is an almost 18 year old border collie mix. When we get another pet, it'll probably be a bichon frise. 1. hypoallergenic 2. due to #1 the dog would be welcome at my family's home. LOL! Kathy

Awwww, geez, Sweety. That's so awful... I know it's not much help but how about a cyber hug? (((((((Kathy)))))))

Sorry about the kittens!!! Pets are so much fun. It is amazing how quickly we become attached. How was the office party? Shawna

Oh, yea...definitely attached in lickety split time too. Office party was fun. A few folks didn't recognize me at all. Too funny. I felt like a princess. Casino night was fun. Played black jack for a few hours with funny money. All was excellent except Rich falling on the way into the hotel and scraping his knee and bruising a rib (with his own elbow!) Doh! Kathy

I am also allergic to animals (cats and dogs the most) but if they have short hair, I do ok taking Zyrtec to keep my allergies under control. I can't imagine not being able to have my pets. Can you maybe talk to your doctor about an allergy shot or a daily prescription? Darn it. That stinks.

Aww Kathy that is so sad. My son is alergic but keeps his under control with zyrtec. We also keep the cats out of his room. It helps that I have tile floors in the house so that the dander just gets swept away. Big hugs to you, Kat
