Laurie!
How was your appointment with the neurologist? What's up?
My doctor called today and left a message today. Apparently my B12 is high which she said is where they like it (don't know the value)...my homocysteine was normal at 4.5 which is good.
I'm not sure if she ran a B1 or not.
I realized that I think the big problem with my left leg is more a circulation one - it happens (drop foot) after I've had my legs crossed for a while and normally I cross left over right. The tingling in my toes and fingertips - not sure what is up with that. I'll probably make an appointment with a neurologist to get things checked out. I did have that before with the diabetes.
Waiting for a fax of all my blood test so I can review them myself and take them with me.

Kathy - glad that your numbers were good. I had to reschedule my neurologist appointment, and of course can't get in until the middle of January. So, I'm having my pcp see if he can get me in somewhere sooner.
I got my labs back and my ferritin has dropped A LOT!! So, that's a not so good sign. Got to go to a hemotologist as well.
Well see what they all say... but.... I'd still have this surgery over again if I had to!!!!!!!!!! I'm absolutely loving being "normal"
Laurie
You normal?
Definitely get checked by the hematologist. Do you take iron now? What type and how much? The OSSG-Nutrition and OSSG-Protein yahoogroups have some very knowledgeable folks on there - I'd suggest joining if you haven't already.
I'm sorry you had to reschedule your neurologist appointment. How were your B12 levels and such?
Keep us (aka me) posted.
Kathy
Yes, I did join the OSSG boards, they are a wealth of information. I've also read just about everything on Gina's site headbattles.com There's some huge gold nuggets there!!!!!
My b12 numbers were screwed up so I have to go in and get it retested. Which is fine cuz I now see a bunch of levels that they didn't check.
My iron was decent 73 but my ferritin is droping rapidly. It went from 71 (on my 3mth labs) down to 26 (on these 6mth labs) so it deffinately calls for a trip to the hematologist.
I haven't noticed my neuropathy going any further in my left foot yet. It's still just in my toes. My right foot and leg though are driving me nuts. It's not "painful" like give me drugs.... it's irritating and hard to walk. I'm tired of tripping all the time. But all in good time, I guess, so I'm trying to wait patiently.
Now my dizziness is starting to get worse. But again, I'm waiting to get into a doctor.
OK - Now I need to get some cheese to go with all this whinning!!!!!
