Water intake?

I was just perusing the website livingafterWLS.com, it has a whole lot of good stuff there. One of it's 4 rules to success is adequate water intake. She said the way to calculate how much water you should be drinking daily is to take your current body weight, divide it by 2, then drink that many ounces per day. So for me, I currently weight 272/2 would be 136 oz! I am sure she is right. I know I do much better when my water intake is way up there, but wow. Anybody getting in this much water? Lori, I've been a bad girl as far as water is concerned. Right now I'm also kind of in a stall, I'm gonna try to up my water and see if that helps. I used to love cold water, now I really only like hot drinks, but I'm gonna force more down. Thanks for the info and good luck! ~Wanda

I've never read of the divide by 2 rule but I do know that we should have 64 oz if we were at goal and I know there was some rule as to how much to increase for each so many lbs overweight you are. I drink 60 oz of pure water usually and then whatever else. That is most days. Once in a while I drink 80 oz plus whatever else. I think proper hydration is very, very important. So I guess we should all up our water intake a bit, eh? Kathy

That would put me somewhere in the 115 oz of water/day neighborhood. I may get that much in sometimes, but I usually average around 80oz or so. I have a 52oz insulated mug that I carry with me all the time. I try to get that in plus a 20 oz bottle of water or at least one or two of my 24 oz glasses at home. Occasionally I'll get in two of my 52 oz mugs, but not always. Michelle

Hi Lori, I need to do better with my water. I am hooked on this sugar-free cool-aid and I know that sometimes I need just good old, plain water. I am trying to up it. I am doing much better than I use too. I was looking at your website and you look really great! Your pictures are awesome!!

Thanks Lakisha! I appreciate that. I just had a December picture taken, but, it didn't really turn out. Sometimes I feel like my weight loss hardly shows at all. I've lost 112 lbs, of course it shows! I have to keep working on my psyche about it. I just came from a Christmas party. Fitday says I had 428 calories for dinner. And I didn't even touch the dessert! I think I'm going through a weird time right now. Lori
