Holiday Party Dress!

My company's holiday party is on 12/16/05. Its a really fun time for my co-workers and I...of course this year I have to be super fabulous. Originally I was going to wear my black halter dress that I got in Puerto Rico for $3, but it's a 1X and by the time I get it altered, it wont be worth the bargain. So today I'm in WAL-MART, not even looking, when I see "the little black dress". Because It was Wal-mart I got a Large 12-14, and a XL 14/16. Well why did neither fit??? And I had to get a MEDIUM 8/10. Can you believe it I am the proud owner of a little black dress sized MEDIUM, and it looks so good! WOO HOO. The funny thing is I was only 17 pounds lighter when I bought the 1X, so I must be losing crazy inches. ALiya

Congratulations, Miss Medium! Oo la la! You see, Aliya, the smaller we get...the less pounds it takes to change sizes. For smaller folks, 10 lbs can be a whole clothing size. And guess what? We are smaller folks now! I got a FREE holiday party dress! My sister has lost weight (she was always smaller than me but had packed on weight as do most folks as she got older) in the past two years so I got lots of handouts. One of the things she gave me was a custom made brown silk dress that she had made at a boutique on Long Island for a wedding she was going to. Brown wouldn't be my choice of colors personally - but it is lovely and it fits me. She gave it to me Labor Day and I couldn't believe I could put it on. Now I'm 20 lbs lighter and it looks amazing. She also gave me a purple velvet dress that is a size 10. I can get it on but need a bit more off the old body for it to look amazing (it has some boning and laces up the back). There is a conference here in January and I'm hoping it fits for that. Another month and a half and I may just be able to do it! Other stuff she gave me is fitting. Was just trying some things on a few minutes ago. I found I have to do that every couple of weeks to see how much progress I'm making. LOL! You go, girl! And we want pictures! Kathy
