Another survey- STAPLES
Is there anything that you have on a regular basis that you could share with others? (HIgh protien, good tasting...etc.)
~I enjoy SF Red bull...VERY high in B12-B6 It DOES have caffeine, but for me it is something I REALLY enjoyed pre surgery so I see it as a comfort.
~I also like to start some mornings with a south beach bar. Not TERRIBLE tasting...lol...but not a donut...GREAT protien and nutrients:

Do you have these day in and day out or just as 'needed' : )
Red bull 2 times daily, South beach bar maybe twice a week. They are high in calorie (200 ish) so I like to eat them BEFORE my morning work out...keeps me pumped and I don't feel guilty...
Hi!
I don't have too much to add for recommendations, but I do eat a South Beach pizza a couple of times per week. They have over 20 grams of protein, I frequently can't eat the whole thing, but they taste pretty good and often satisfy my hunger for "junk" food. I like both the pepperoni and the plain cheese.
Enjoy your day Maysters!

Wanda,
I frequently eat the SB pizzas. They are wonderful and are the perfect serving size. I eat the whole thing as well, but afterwards I am totally satified. Somtimes when we go out for pizza I cook the SB pizza at home and take it along with me. Another thing is they have a whole lot of fiber if you know what I mean.

Just be careful of that caffeine - it can an irritant to your pouch and we are definitely more suspectible to ulcers as post-ops.
I also wouldn't count on absorbing any of the B12 from Red Bull or anything else eaten. The bypass means that we just don't absorb B12 from our digestive tracts. That's why we have to supplement with either B12 sublinguals which are absorbed through mucus membranes under your tongue or throught shots.
The most important thing is that if you enjoy Red Bull and it makes you happy - go for it!

You definitely want to take a B12 supplement. I do it daily. I was told every other day but with what I've read that 15% or more of bypass patients end up with neuropathy post-op...I moved it to daily. You cannot overdose on the stuff.
You also want to take a B complex daily above and beyond your multivitamin.
I'm really trying to get educated on my vitamins and nutrients to try to stave off any long term problems. I'm also trying to learn how to interpret blood test results and I get a copy from all my docs to keep. I'm entering values in a spreadsheet to look for trends.

Definitely read the bottom of the second one. Tells you the importance of vitamins.
I enjoy the SB bars, too. Maple Nut and PB are my favorite.
Every morning for breakfast, I eat either Quaker Weight Control Banana Nut Bread oatmeal or Blue Bunny LowCarb yogurt. Well, except for today - we went to the 'greasy spoon'.
Cheesesticks - I get the marbled mozzarella/colby kind.
SF Popsicles - especially like the sf creamscicles.
Starbucks... sometimes caffinated, sometimes not. Sometimes hot. Sometimes iced. Venti SF Hazelnut Latte.... mmmmm!
Other than the Starbucks, I pretty much eat the other stuff every day.
I have a PowerCrunch bar every morning for breakfast. I'm not too fond of eggs and bacon, so this works great.
(I used to be a Starbuck's cinnamon scone person -- every morning. Gosh I loved those.)
I've started having Soy Crisps for my afternoon snack. I was having a South Beach snack bar, but I really think they were contributing to my weight loss pause.
