Coffee
Oh, I've been known to indulge here or there. It isn't part of my daily routine anymore though. I find that regular coffee provides ... oh, how to say this... a laxative effect... as in my "coffee kicked in" (for those that know the movie Steel Magnolias you remember Sally Field's character asking where her husband was and her sons saying "His coffee kicked in" meaning he was in the bathroom).

I've been drinking coffee a lot. My Dr. said I could have 2 cups per day starting back in June, but I really didn't start drinking it a lot until August. Part of the benefit for me is what Kathy mentioned. I was having some regularity difficulties and a side benefit is that is no longer an issue!
Good luck!

Geniene,
My nutritionist told me no to anything with caffiene. She told me that it depletes the water in your body, especially in your intestines/bowels and therefore could cause constipation. I read somewhere recently that it takes drinking 2 1/2 cups of water to replace drinking 1 cup of a caffienated beverage. I still have a hard time getting enough liquids in and I don't want to defeat the purpose of drinking all tha****er by drinking something with caffiene. I do decaf coffee and teas ... McDonalds has a really good decaf coffee and they put the cream and sweetener in for you!

If it was WLS or Coffee??? It would have been a hard choice.... Luckily, My Surgeon said "Decalf was OK". I cheat and use "foldgers half/caf". I was a 2 pot girl before surgery... I now make 6 cups in the morning and let my DH have a small cup.
I'm starting to try to boost my protein to get off this damn plateau. I mixed a Mega Protein boost in a shake with this mornings coffee. Does anyone know how many grams of protein are max at one sitting? This stuff is 20gs a scoop... and they say to use 3 scoops.... "yikes"....
