Hello? Hi, it's me, the dork...

OKay, so I went to Target this morning. I took a vacation day today and felt like goofing off with Livvie. So, I'm checking out the clothes (it's therapy for me, I can almost shop in the misses section without having a panic attack now). I come across some nice jeans on sale. I think, well, the one pair of 16s I have are a little baggy around the @ss, I wonder if a pair of 14s will fit... Nahhhh... But, they're on sale and EVENTUALLY they'll fit, right? So I buy them, and a couple of long sleeve stretch, fitted t-shirts, too. Get home and I'm looking at these jeans and I thought, ah, what the heck. Let's see what happens. Well, they fit REALLY well, except around my waist (they're kind of low-rise). So, I did what I swore I wouldn't do anymore, I layed on the bed to see if I could get them zipped. Yup, I can. They're tight, and I have a nice little roll above the waist line, but I'm gonna wear them for just a little while to see if they stretch a little. This is officially the smallest size I've worn as an adult. They're really too tight, really, they are, and the roll is most unattractive, but Livvie doesn't mind. All she knows is her mommy's grinning like a fool and taking shallow breaths...

Becky, Your post made me smile so much! I cannot tell you how many times I've laid down to try to get some jeans on -- that's fantastic! Someday I hope to be wearing a 14 too! Keep up the good work and I know Livvie is thrilled that her mommy is smiling so much! ~Wanda

Becky, I also was smiling and giggling. I, too, bought a new pair of jeans yesterday and they fit good everywhere except that tummy thingy...so i too laid on the bed and zipped them up. I also had the tummy roll but guess what I am going today to buy one of those 1-piece girdle thingys and that should take care of that roll!!! I also had a new pair of boots on and a new sweater..i must say....i looked rather ....hot.!!!!!

That's too funny, Becky! I have a pair of jeans I'm dying to wear. My sister gave 'em to me and they run a bit small. Anyway, I can get them up and buttoned and zipped but there is that skin roll over the top that I'm not happy with. And for some unknown reason the pants want to rise up my arse. I don't get it. Man, it has been so long for me I forgot about the lay on the bed trick!! I have a pair of jeans at home that are just a smidge too small- guess what I'm going to go do!!!

OMG I am laughing so hard here. I have not done the laying on the bed thingy since highschool. A almost 14 is great. Keep up the great work. Kat

Well, I'm glad everyone got a laugh at my expense... I wound up wearing them out in public. I just felt too good (and too restricted) and had to do it. I wore one of DH's button down shirts to hide the role and ran a bunch of errands. Four hours later, I was about in agony. I swear I losing feeling in my extremeties. By the time I got home and got them off, I had a nice red welt around my waist about belly-button level. But I wore those puppies! Yeah, Baby! However, in order to ensure I get feeling back to my internal organs, I think I'll let the sit for a week or two and try again...

WTG sweetie!!! I know exactly how you feel with the jeans! And I too wore mine even tho they felt a bit tight and are also low rise....but I figured who cares what anyone out in public thinks, I KNOW that I never fit into them before and the size I bought was a major accomplishment! So just remember that! Wait a bit tho so u dont get anymore welts lol but dont wait too long or guess what? Someone else will be enjoying ur new jeans I keep making that mistake, waiting too long to try on something that was once too tight!
