Label Shock

There I've said it. I just got back from Kohls and I don't know what is going on. How can a medium be too big? And there I found myself looking for a *dare I say it* s-m-a-l-l???? Whass up wid dat???? Rich and I want to get a portrait taken. We have pictures my friend took at our wedding last year but we look so different and my father has been clamouring for a picture. I checked out the JCPenney website and they had some great couples shots and they had some great advice about not wearing different colors, not having arms exposed and distracting from the faces, etc. So I thought I'd get us each a nice black turtleneck to wear. Of course, blacks vary by shades frustrating me even more than the label size issue. I ended up totally overwhelmed and 'neck-less. Kathy

You Go Girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've taken my medium tops and shrunk them (just like I did the large ones) to get more use out of them!!!! I just can't financially keep up with the changing sizes. And of course, you're going to post this beautiful picture for us all to see too - right?!! Have a wonderful, cold day you SMALL person!!!! lol Laurie

Some parts of me may be smallish but I ain't small. I'm just fitting into size 12s so that's not quite a small yet. These turtlenecks ran majorally big apparently. The larges that I have are definitely getting roomy so depending on the manufacturer I'd say I'm a medium. Imagine that. But then I remember that I bought most of the larges in 2003 when I had gotten down to 215 and I'm more than 30 lbs less than that now. Doh! Size, size, size...what's my size. Kathy

Quick fashion advice. Turtlenecks flatter noone. You would be better off with a black v-neck. Makes the neck look longer and doesn't squish your wattle (if you have one). One of the best books I have picked up lately is "What Not to Wear" by Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine. They are the hosts of the BBC version of the TV show of the same name. They also have a wonderful book called "What You Wear Can Change Your Life". And it is true. Take care, J

Good advice thanks! Rich and I both "wattle" (or is that "waddle") or should I say we both have "wattle"s since our respective WLS. I'm more a "mock" turtleneck kind of gal if I wear one at all. Don't like anything tight up around my neck though the fact that there is much less around my neck makes anything looser. Kathy
