Talk about a Cardio Workout!
I got home from class last night and there was a 'bill-type-looking' letter from the hospital where I had my surgery last month. I thought, oh, it's just a statement saying this is what they charged, this is what my insurance paid, and I owe nothing. You know "THIS IS NOT A BILL" type thing. Afterall, I met my deductible for the year already.
$1250.00!!! I thought I was going to have a heart attack! I just finished paying off all my other medical bills and was looking forward to my first Christmas as an adult where were weren't scraping through!
Surely, this must be a mistake!!!
After tossing and turning for 2 hours last night, worrying that someone hadn't gotten a referral in properly, they changed my benefits, I misunderstood how a deductible worked... etc... I finally got to sleep.
Called Aetna at 7:05am and guess what! They DID screw up. Apparently, the "system" was looking for a referral to the facility and it didn't really need to. So, they got it fixed in about 2 minutes.
Can you say, "WHEW!!!"???
