Home from hospital
I got home this afternoon (earlier then we expected). I made it through the CT without going nuts on the tech (I'm claustraphobic even in those machines)
Then I went over to surgery. While I was in preop holding a nurse came up to me and said, "Hey, I remember you! WOW you've lost a lot of weight fast!!!" That was pretty cool. She was my preop holding nurse when I had my bypass in May. Everyone there was very complimentary towards me regarding my bypass. I had five different doctors today and each of them made a nice comment about it to me.
I got this funny anesthetic nurse. He came in with my "juice" and was going to put it in my IV. I told him to make mine a double!! He said that they give a 10% discount if you put it in yourself, and then handed me the plunger. It was funny then they took me into the OR. I remember them first strapping a WAY tight mask on my face!! Then someone came in and undid the straps and just held it to my face (much better) then it was nighty night
It was weird to wake up from surgery and NOT have any pain what-so-ever. I felt pretty good. My throat is VERY sore, and I feel "weird" from the sleep drugs, but that should be gone by tomorrow.
I go back for all the results in two weeks!! But he did say that he found nothing "major" and it is an alergic reaction to "something" (geee, I knew that much already). So, the saga continues.........
Laurie - scared to find out how much she weighs after all those IVs
Laurie,
Avoid the scales for several days, will ya? It'll help you. I know I was up a good 5-6 from my fairly quick lap choly (gb removal) and it seemed to hang with me for a number of days. Ick. It passed.
Glad you are doing well. Hope they can figure out what creeping crud is in your lungs and get it the heck outta there.
Feel better!
Kathy
