Saw my surgeon today. The results of my gallbladder pathology reported inflammation as well as stones. Glad the thing is gone. But since the pain is still here loud and clear that led to the removal of said gallbladder...Rich and I chatted with the surgeon about what it could be. He suspects an ulcer at the stoma connection. That would explain why it hurts when I eat and thereafter. Just to be sure nothing else is going on, I'm going to have a CAT scan with IV and PO (oral) contract. That should help see if there is something else going on in there or if a gallstone got away. I also am going to see the gastroenterologist to see about a possible ulcer. He'll get a copy of the CAT scan as well to see what is up. I assume a possible endoscopy to look for an ulcer though I'm not sure. Lastly, I'm being put on Prevacid and Carafate to see if that helps. It should help if there is an ucler. That's the scoop! Kathy

Kathy, Glad it's out too!!! Sad about the continued pain and possible ulcer. Hope the tests go well ...should be painless and they can find out what's up. Prayers are going up for you. (Those meds should really calm down an ulcer if there is one.) May your health take a turn for the better soon. You've had a time of it, huh? Blessings, Mary

*hugs* I'm glad the gallbladder is out, but I'm sorry you are still in pain! I had an ulcer and was on Carafate 4 times a day and Prevacid twice a day. It healed in about a month's time, and I haven't had a problem since. I hope that the medicine helps you and you are out of pain shortly. *hugs* Ashleigh
