I Dump on Fat...
It's 1:44am, Livvie just woke me up so I put her back to bed and thought I'd take a minute to tell you guys about what happened tonight.
DH and I went to B-Dubs for dinner. For those who don't know "B-Dubs', it's actually called Buffalo Wild Wings. Used to be called BW3's... Anyway, I digress.
I can't eat most of their sauces - I'm scared of the sugar content, so I usually get their naked tenders or a salad. Tonight, I got a salad. Hubby got a sandwhich and an order of onion rings AND and order of fried mozz sticks.
I must have been feeling ****y. I hate half a mozz stick. Then, a small onion ring. Then the other half of the mozz stick. Ate a little salad and then we were on our way.
Halfway home I felt "not right". Guts were roiling, pouch was... weird. Not nauseaous, but not really feeling like the food was planning on sitting there that long. By the time we got home, I was having hot flashes. Put Livvie to bed and promptly layed my head on the end table next to the chair. Felt.... Bluggg...I was supposed to go out with some friends tonight. Instead, I promptly went to bed at 8:30am.
It was slightly different from my experience with the baked beans, but I'm pretty sure what I experienced was a form of dumping from the fats in the fried foods. Dunno. What I DO know is, it'll be a cold day in H*** before I eat any of THAT crap again...
Becky, I can so relate. That is exactly how I felt the other night at Peter Hut. During work, I went in the back and everyone was eating a thin crust pepperoni pizza. I took a very small slice and ate it carefully. Well, about 10 minutes later I felt the exact same way you are describing. I went to the bathroom and wished I could have just thrown up but it wasn't happening. I just sat in there for about 15 minutes wishing for death or something! Anyway, it eventually passed but I told my daughter, NO MORE GREASE and definetely no more eating while on the job, just don't wanta take that chance again.
Wow! I've had the "rockin' and rollin'" in my intestinal area before if something is real greasy (I probably would have stayed away from the onion ring), but on the average I can tolerate some fried foods - esp. mozzarella sticks! They are like my thing, dipped in Ranch. There is a family style restaurant near my home that my husband and I frequent. I order them quite often. I can eat two whole ones and a bit of salad and that is my meal and I feel fine. They aren't greasy at all and they're delicious. Maybe I'm a weirdo ... but then I've heard of some WLS people eating sugar and not getting sick. I don't even experiment with that!

I get that way with a little too much peanut butter. I can handle 1 tbsp, maybe a little more, but any more than that and I get really icky. Nothing else really makes me feel like that, so I don't know if it's the fat content in the peanuts or what (I use the natural pb, no sugar or anything), but She Who Must Be Obeyed doesn't like a lot of pb.
