Stefanie, I can I can !!! I can eat right about what you do, only thing is my nutrtitionist has me at 800-1000 cal a day, and its easy for me to do 1100. I am down 80 pounds, with no real plateaus...This works for me, so this is where I'm keeping it!

I too eat about 1100 calories per day. I find that I get really hungry about ten days before my period as well. My nutritionist tells me to to eat more protien and to avoid protien drinks and yogart. They do not keep you full like food does. So since I have converted to a more solid breakfast and snack instead of the shake it has helped. She also suggested no carbs, ie popcorn cakes, crackers and doritos etc. She suggests replacing carbs with plenty of fruits and veggies. Good luck. Jessica

Stef, don't worry, you're doing an amazing job! I plateau every few weeks and I KNOW it's because I'm not eating enough especially since I exercise hardcore. I'm lucky if I get in 800 calories per day and I honestly believe it is hindering my weightloss. Off topic: have you tried the Doritos Light? They're only 90 calories per ounce and to me they taste way better than the baked doritos. Hugs, Tracy

Hi tracy... I have tried the light doritos and I acutally like the baked ones better. I prefer baked lays over the real chips too. I know I should just get away from all that crap but I don't think eating them once in a while will cause any major harm does anyone out there disagree?? Or is that like marijuana is a gateway drug doritos are a gateway food?

Stefanie, My surgeon, my nutritionist and my PCP all want me to eat 1200 calories a day. In 6 small meals. They think it is vital to making sure I get enough nutrients. Lori 384/288.5/170

I think you are doing great! You might try adding more protien to your menu and that might help with the hunger. I seldom feel hungry...I usually eat because it is time to eat. I am bad about counting calories... b - Protien drink l - chicken wrap from KFC without the wrap s - 100 calorie keebler sandies shortbread cookes d - ? Keep up the good work! B Jay

To be honest, your calorie intake sounds about right, most docs say keep it around 1200. Your food content is ok as long as your protien is were it should be, its not like you are eating pizza, or taco bell. Only concern i have is grazzing. You are eating the right stuff imo and at the right quantitys, but grazzing makes for bad habits. A lot of times its not that you are hungry but unsatisfied. I put alot of thought in what i eat, based on what my cravings are. I try to eat a healthy wls version of what my cravings are for. From what i have heard, read and self aware, is that if you feel satisfied from a meal you are less likely to cheat or graze. A blah meal leaves you wanting something else. Like today, i was craving something italian, so i keep cans of zukinne (sp) in zesty tomato sause (no sugar), very low cal, and cans of yellow squash with vidella onions. I mixed both cans together and its sort of like the old cabage stew minus the cabage, then i added some ricota cheese. Took my portions and WOW i was full all night, no sugar free pops or anything. Listen to your cravings find a good substitute, get creative if you have to, and try to qualm your mental hunger pangs by tricking it into thinking you gave it what it wanted. works for me and others. best of wishes
