Time for my geekiness to show again...

Fun with numbers/math time! Thanks to my father the mechanical engineer who gave me these math genes... Let's see... I've lost 89 lbs out of the 116 lbs I wanted to lose so I'm down 76.7% of my excess tonage. Subtracting out my pre-op loss of 32 lbs...I've lost 57 lbs out of the 84 lbs that I want to lose post-op so I'm down 67.9%. So I'm 2/3 of the way in my post-op loss! What else can I milk out of this... I'm 1 lb from having lost 90 lbs. I'm 11 lbs from the Century Club. Crawling back into my calculator case... Kathy

Okay, being that I work with approx. 1000 engineers, I've acquired this mindset somewhat by osmosis. I started out at 287. My goal weight is somewhere between 150 and 170. If I go with 170, I've lost 90 pounds, or 77% of my excess weight. If I go with 150, I've lost 66% of my excess weight. This means I'm 2/3 to 3/4 the way there. I'm 10 pounds from the Century Club! Okay, Kathy, I blame you for the smoke curling from my ears... I gotta re-boot now. Becky

Osmosis? Sure there aren't some scientists in there among the engineers??? I worked at a big engineering firm right out of college. Interesting place. Interesting clothing. Never forget the burgundy and white check pants with the burgundy and white stripe shirt and tie. At least he had the colors right. Kathy

Yep, engineers are special people, all right... I've seen pictures of the "good old days" where they were all bald white guys wearing white short sleeve shirts and dark ties. Now, half of them are slobs and can't even adhere to business casual... I love my job... No, really, I do... I love it, but... sometimes engineers make me crazy...

I don't know if they all wore white shirts and dark ties...but millions and millons of poor little polyesters died to make clothing for those guys. This was early to mid-80s. Pocket protectors, wide ties, etc. I shudder at the thought. Kathy

Not sure if I am awake enough for all the number but will give it a try. I have lost 105 lbs out of the 215 I wanted to lose. That is 48.8%. Means I am almost 1/2 way done. I have lost 27.3 percent of my body weight total. Not bad for someone that still can't eat right. I have made the century club and then some my next goal is the century and a half club. Maybe by christmas. Have a great Wednesday. (I think it is Wednesday). Kat

I hate math (I can write you a 50 page dissertation in 10 seconds flat, but I can't add two plus two in my head ) however, I'll give this a try. I've lost 72lbs out of the 97-107lbs I want to lose total (darn stall happening right now ) so that's 67.3% -74.2% of my excess cushion gone. I'm 3lbs away from the 3/4 of a century mark. I've only got 25-35lbs to go . And my checkbook is 100% stretched trying to find clothes to fit my shrinking behind while still single handedly raising two kids. Did I get that right Kathy and Becky? This is my forte.... I'm 75 lbs down and want to loose 190 so that's 39.5% toward goal. I am 38 lbs to reach Onderland. That's 50% of what I've lost so far... I'm hoping it to acheive this by Christmas, but it will be hard.... Christmas is 74 days away so that's about 1/2 pound per day, 15 pounds per month (I only weigh in Monthly). I want to be at my goal weight by my 46th birthday (April) 2007 - thats 548 days from today. That works out to be about 1 1/2 pounds per week. I figured it took me 20 years to slab up... I'm giving myself 2 years to work it off.... Kate Z 313/238/125
