What can you eat?????????
Great post!!!
I can eat sugar. The weird thing is that sugar was not a problem with me pre-op (I would pass over chocolate for chicken fried steak or a great hamburger in exchange for cake, pie, cookies, etc.) So it's weird now I can eat sweets and it doesn't make me dump. I've had a bite and nibble of hubby or daughters cake/cookie/cupcake but I have not had my own serving, nor will I.
I can do corn and it's a treat for me. I'll put in an extra protein shake just so I can have half an ear of sweet corn. I'll put a fresh ear in the microwave for 3 min. wrapped in a damp paper towel and put some butter and pepper and I have a little meal. I've done this 3 times and it's a little piece of heaven for me. That said, I can eat popcorn too. I've tried a few handfuls at the theater and all went down well.
As far as meats go it really just depends on the texture. I don't do bbq'ed meats well unless for example they are ribs falling off the bone. I can do a grilled steak/chicken/shrimp.
As far as breads, nope, can't do. TOO doughy. I can do toast/croutons but that's it.
Beverages...mostly it's milk, decaf tea, water, crystal lite, etc. I tried a few sips of a diet seven up and it went down well but I just put it down. I'd DIE for a diet coke!!!
I love fresh fruit and oatmeal. They are my staples. I eat cheese and I live off chicken or shrimp ceasar salads. I love seafood!! Fried foods don't bother me much either.
Really good post!
I think my pouch is going on strike! It's accepting fewer "exotic" foods lately! Popcorn tastes great, but hurts my pouch, and I end up in the bathroom...
I can do sugar alcohols with no problem, so thank goodness for protein bars! They work when I want something sweet. I had regular sugar by accident and it made for a bad afternoon (it was a cheese puff that I though was like a wonton, but was really a dessert! Why put that right NEXT to the teriyaki chicken, I ask you???).
Ummm... I can eat most meats and seafood. Shrimp still gives me problems, though. Fried foods don't agree with me at all. Oddly enough, they did when I was a newer post-op.
If I'm going to eat bread, I toast it, too. Otherwise, I concentrate on whatever's filling the sandwich.
If I'm gonna have soda, I'll let it go flat over ice first. Tried it straight, and I get really burp-y. What I love now, though, is a large steamed skim milk with a shot of sugar free hazelnut. Feels good going down, and I know I've gotten protein and calcium!
So, yeah, I stick to what's tried and true, too. I still love cottage cheese and SF preserves for breakfast... oatmeal... soups... lean, roasted meats... deli meat... CHEESE!.... tuna... and anything not fried or sweet.

I can eat just about anything. My problem is the amount. I think I am fine then it just hits me that I am above full. So that is what I am working on. I really don't want any sugar products but boy pizza I could die for. I really crave good food like meat loaf. Then I eat 2 bites and thats all I can fit.
Pouch of steal!
Corn? Corn on the cob works for me!
Rice? I've only had it once and it was a very small amount
Popcorn? Haven't tried it yet
Sugar? How many grams? I don't dump at all, but try to stay away as much as possible.
What kinds of meat? Meats are really hard for me. I can't do ground beef or chicken. I can eat shredded pork or beef, like a roast, as long as I chew it really slow. I do best with shellfish and fish.
Bread? What kind? Bread doesn't work for me unless it is really crispy. Tortillas make me barf.
Beverages? I drink mostly water these days. I drink coffee on nights that I work and occasionally I'll have ice tea.
