Goodwill Clothing Drive
I am my daughters Brownie leader. I have 12 happy healthy and hearty
7 year olds girls for 3 hours every Wednesday!
One of our service projects is the Goodwill Clothing Drive. Each girl must donate 3 bags. This morning when I got home from my 12 hour shift at the hospital I proceed to fill not one but 9 trash bags full of clothes.
Now they are a mix of mine, DH and daughter but what a way to clean out some drawers! Every drawer I opened in my dresser I made myself get rid of 2 items. I have t shirts I never and would never wear. Clothes I haven't ever seen before...OMG...too much stuff.
This is in addition to the huge box of 2X clothes I donated to hurricaine relief. Removing many of these items has been quite cleansing. I refuse to save these larger sizes as I trim down. No one should own more clothes that they cant wear than they can wear!!
What therapy on a rainy Sunday!
My daughters Girlscout troop did this 2 weeks ago. Between my closet and the kids I had 11 of the huge trash bags of stuff. I have been lucky that people keep giving me clothes to lose into so I have more to go. They will be passed on too when I lose out of them.
No rain here but yes that is great therapy.

Hey Jen this is off the subject but I just now noticed that you live in Greensboro, NC...that is where I am flying into in November when I go to see my sister! She lives in Concord but it was cheaper to fly into Greensboro than to Charlotte. Anyway, Just wanted you to know that I would be in your neck of the woods!!
Jen,
I can so relate. I just got back from the University after donating about 40 items of clothing size 28 to 32 to a "Woman To Woman" project, for women who are looking for work, but, don't have anything professional to interview in or wear. I know it was hundreds if not thousands of dollars of professional wear, but, at least I know it is going to a good cause!
I still have 2 more closets to go through!
