Gallbladder surgery 10/14

My tests really don't show a "bad" gallbladder but based on my symptoms - it is. Surgeon said that since my symptoms didn't worsen when the CCK was injected during my HIDA scan...that it is probably a 50/50 shot that removing my gallbladder will fix things. That's statistics only. But based on instincts and symptoms and how my pain comes after eating especially after fatty foods - my surgeon feels that the GB is the problem and that I should feel better after the surgery. He offered me time to think about the surgery. I told him I've been thinking about it for more than a month so I didn't need time. I go to Fair Oaks at 8:30 am next Friday. I assume surgery time is 10:00 am. I'll be glad to have the demon gallbladder gone. Kathy

Laurie, Funny I look at a calendar and seem to think my GB issues started just after labor day and that's been a month. Seems like this has been gone on much, much longer! Time flies when you are having fun, I guess. Kathy

Hi Kathy! Well, I had mine removed last February 2004 and I instantly felt better afterwards. The only thing I noticed different was after I ate anything I needed to be close by a bathroom, got the runs alot. But heck, that happens now anyway!! Good Luck!
