Another poll.....
I was just curious about a couple of things, so I decided to run a little poll.
1. Are you having any issues with hanging skin yet?
2. Where are you having the trouble (arms, legs, tummy)?
3. Do you plan on having any plastic surgery in the future?
For myself,
1. I am having some issues already with hanging skin.
2. My belly button seems to stay irriated and I've been having some pretty severe pain in my back. My c-section scar has always been a trouble spot for me, but it has become more so since the skin is hanging lower it seems. On the bright side, my legs and arms don't seem to be fairing to badly.
3. It looks like I'm going to be one of the unfortuate people whose skin does not snap back into place (after one nine pound baby naturally and one 8 pound 4 oz baby by c-section, I'm surprised anything is in place at this point..). Therefore, if it comes down to it and finances are available (be it insurance or self pay), I'm going to have some plastics done.
1. Are you having any issues with hanging skin yet? Yes
2. Where are you having the trouble?
I have bat wings, flappy upper inner thighs, and droopy hips!
3. Do you plan on having any plastic surgery in the future?
I don't think so, but depending how bad it is when I reach goal, I might give it some consideration.
1. Are you having any issues with hanging skin yet?
Yes.
2. Where are you having the trouble (arms, legs, tummy)?
Arms are a bit flappy but not full-fledged bat wings yet. Inner thighs have this vertical drapping going on - not very attractive. Tummy - well, I cannot really tell yet. It didn't look good before. You left out breasts - mine are deflating. Then there is that area right under my butt - starting to resemble a shar-pei.
3. Do you plan on having any plastic surgery in the future?
Have no idea. Neither my husbands or my insurance will pay so we'd have to either win the lottery or self-pay. I know folks here that went to Brazil (Dr. Fabio) for their surgery and were thrilled with the results. He does consults in the US at a convention type setting. I checked out his website the other day (hubby has alot more skin issues than me - but what do you expect for losing over 200 lbs) and arms are $1500 including anesthesia, surgery and hospitalization. His list of prices is like a one stop shopping. LOL!
Anyway, if I ever decide to have surgery...I'll wait until my weight has been stable for at least 6 to 12 months. I want to give it a chance. I know someone who lost around 200 lbs and her body did some self-corrections of sorts as it relates to skin.
1. Are you having any issues with hanging skin yet? Yes, but who the h**l cares, I'm wearing size 16 pants today!
2. Where are you having the trouble (arms, legs, tummy)? All of the above.
3. Do you plan on having any plastic surgery in the future? Like Kathy, I plan on giving myself a year at a stable weight and see what happens. My sister has recently lost about 80 lbs over the course of a year (non-WLS). She has been exercising and her skin has rebounded somewhat. Any plastic surgeon worth her salt won't operate until a year at one weight anyway, so keep that in mind.
Take care.

1. Are you having any issues with hanging skin yet? Yes
2. Where are you having the trouble (arms, legs, tummy)? Yes, yes, and yes!!! Mostly arms and inner thigh.
3. Do you plan on having any plastic surgery in the future? Yes!!! I do have insurance that will cover some of it. But it will be a fight (of course). I plan on asking the surgeon Friday what kind of time frame to think about as far as that goes. With 37 lbs more to lose until my goal, I'd like to find out what the hoops are.
1. Are you having any issues with hanging skin yet? Sadly yes
2. Where are you having the trouble (arms, legs, tummy)? Arms, inner thighs and outer, legs, tummy, and boobs
3. Do you plan on having any plastic surgery in the future? I hope they go back! No surgery but if not then dunno, we definately don't have the $$$$
