Swallowed a brick...

The other night, I made a lo-carb pasta bake with whole wheat mostacelli shells, lo-carb pasta sauce and LOTS of hamburger and some asiago cheese on top. It went down fine, although the pasta, being whole wheat, was a little 'chewy'. I reheated some for my lunch today, probably 1/4 cup of the meat with a little bit of sauce and 6 mostacelli shells and I feel like I've swallowed a brick. Not pain, necessarily, more like a heaviness in my gut, and more pronounced when I stand up. Kind of a bummer - I've got about 12 more me-servings of this stuff left, and I'm thinking I won't be trying it again...

I'm finding I have trouble with any leftovers, things just sit heavier for some reason. I'm not cooking big portions anymore.

Yeah, I struggle with leftovers, too. Some things are okay, others are not... I'll try adding water/sauce like the suggestion below next time and if that doesn't do the trick, then I know this is yet another thing I can't do leftovers on...

Pasta is always drier when it is reheated. It absorbs so much of the sauce. Just add more sauce and some water to reheat it and it should fix the problem. Sounds like a yummy dinner! Jen

Beck... I think it is a moisture problem. When you make pasta usually the first day it is a bit runny. The noodles seem to absorb alot of fluids and solidify after it has been in the fridge. What I would do is make some more sauce and drown it and then add some more cheese (can one ever have too much cheese? - I think not!) It is just like lasagna. The first night you serve it...it doesn't hold together well and the next day and subsequent days - it stays together nicely. Due to it being drier. Kathy
