Good morning OH, I have been taking chewable vitamins and I am tired of the tast. Am I able to take the regular kind now and if so which is the best choice out there? And another think I have not been taking calcium, which is the right one to take? I do appreciate all advice I can get! Thanks Rosie 329/273/?

Hi Rose! I actually just take the Oneaday Multi-vitamin and my Surgeon said that was just fine. He also suggested that I get the Viactives for my calcium. They are the chewable candy-like things and I have had some samples and they are just yummy!!! hope this helps!

I got a Rx from my primary care for pre-natal vitamins and I just break them up with a pill cutter into about 10 pieces and take 1/2 at a time after a meal - wait 30 minutes - and take it with milk or water. Michelle

I, personally, can't take the whole pill. I've even broken it up in 4ths and it still got stuck. That's why I break it up into at least 8ths, then I can swallow it. I had my surgery 5/3/05. Michelle

I have to differ in opinion. Do NOT take Viactiv for your calcium. Viactivs are calcium carbonate. Calcium carbonate requires stomach acids for absorption. As RNYers, we do not have stomach acid so we MUST take calcium citrate. There are many brands of calcium citrate out there. I use chewables because I don't mind the taste. Kathy
