It took 14 years...
but I'm back in the 180s! Tipped the scale at 189 this morning. Go**** feels very, very strange typing that number...almost surreal.
I initially set my goal at 160 lbs. A weight I've never been at as an adult so it is really hard for me to pick that as a goal since I have no clue what I'll look like at that weight. Was 156 in 8th grade and probably was 160 shortly thereafter. I remember that 156 from the humiliation of getting weighed in the gym in front of the rest of the class in compliance with the President's Council on Fitness. Pffft!
The lowest I've been as an adult was 167 for a day or so back in the early-mid 1980s. Probably did most of my hovering for a year or two back then in the low 170s and then back up the scale yet again.
If I stick with my goal of 160...my total weight loss will be 116 lbs. With my current weight loss total of 87 lbs... I am exactly 75% of the way to that goal! How cool is that?
I'm not sure what I'll look like at 160 lbs so I am allowing myself to reset my goal at any time if I think I'm "there". I figure I will know I'm "there" when I get "there". LOL!

Aliya,
You know I think sometimes we set unrealistic goals or goals that might not be a healthy weight for ourselves. For many of us who have been overweight for long periods of time...our bones get heavier/denser in order to support the extra weight so sometimes "ideal" weights from charts cannot be achieved without being physically "underweight".
I am not stuck on a specific number at all. I have a goal weight... just for the sake of having one. I will be thrilled to be back at 170ish. Not sure if I'll look too thin at 160. I'll find out what is right for me when I get there and then I'll do what it takes to maintain (increase carbs, I suppose).
Some of the clothing that I have from 20-25 years ago...maybe I'll never fit in again. I have to remind myself that I have 20 to 25 years of aging and growth since.

As they say on packages of cereal "Contents may have shifted during transit..."
But seriously, depending on how long ago you met your husband...sizes have changed over the years. It is the psychological effects of things. Women want to *feel* smaller. So, to accomplish this...you make clothing bigger so folks where a smaller size.
I can show you size 15/16s from the 1980s that have a 30" waist or just a tad smaller. Well, my waist is NOT 30" and not even close...yet I'm wearing a size 14 in today's sizes. I think that size 16 from way back when is more like a 10/12.
When I sorted through clothing to determine what will fit when...I couldn't go by size. I had to measure the waist or bust of things to get like sized things together.
