Happy 4 monthaversary!
Today I am 4 months post op and couldn't be happier.
I am down 57lbs! From a size 22/24 to size 18.
When I started this whole journey over 2 years ago I would have never believed that I would be here typing this today!
I spent about 9mos just toying around with the idea. I looked up info on the computer, I talked to a co worker thru her prep and post op phase. I saw all the insurance and PCP troubles she had. I told her over and over that I would just start a diet and lose along with her. Ha Ha!
My husband and best friend had been dead set against it and I didn't seem to be able to win them over.
Then one day I just had a mini breakdown. I was bawling in the shower and came out to talk to my husband. The next day I signed up for the seminar and put a call into my OB GYN. My husband came with me and then did understand and give me the support that I needed.
It took from June 2004 (seminar date) to May 23, 2005 to reach the end of the first part of my journey. I quit smoking, quit drinking soda and alcohol during that time. I had countless MD appointments and paid a million co pays. I fought along with my surgeon against the insurance company thru 3 denials for 4 months. It was a long and frustrating battle and one that so many times I was ready to give up on but today I couldn't be happier. It has all paid off.
Today I feel wonderful. Sometimes I laugh that my body is getting so healthy with no vices that I may just fall apart. I go three days a week to water aerobics, play soccer with my daughter, take my dog for long walk/jogs and enjoy life.
Thank You all for taking the time to listen to me ramble. And those on the first part of this journey don't get discouraged just keep fighting for what you want and need! Happy 4 monthaversary to me!
