Hurricane Rita
Aaaaah! I teach on Galveston Island and live oh a hop skip and a jump away from the island. We packed up and left on Wed at 2pm, headed to Austin to stay with friends. What normally is a 3 hour trip took 13 hours!!! I'm exhausted. I haven't had time to worry about what goes in my mouth yesterday but managed to drink all my H2o. Now that I'm in Austin I'm eating my protein and trying not to stress about losing my home, etc. The important thing is my kiddos, hubby and I are out of there!. Good news is it looks like it is headed east but we'll still get lots of damage for sure.
I went through Alicia when I was 8 and that was a cat 3 and was very scary. My family actually stayed on the island for that 'cane!
I'm so glad it's no longer a five, I can sleep a little better. Oh, I did pack my vitamins!
Take care and God bless you all.
