Oh my gosh you guys... are any of you as FULL - BODY itchy as I am? I'm serious, I could give myself welts with the amount of daily scratching on my tummy, back, and legs and I'm doing! (I'm also losing modo amounts of hair but Im guessing thats unrelated.) I'm feeling nearly 100% better than I was... YIPPEEE but still very itchy. Shannon in WI 275/208/130

The hair loss (telogen effluvium) is a side effect of the rapid weight loss. The itching could be that you aren't taking in enough water. Increase your intake if you can. Also be sure to use skin lotion! I'm glad to hear you are doing better, Shannon. That's great. Best wishes, Kathy

Shannon, so glad you're feeling better. You've been in my thoughts. I've had some itchiness too, over the last few days, and was thinking along the same lines as Kathy - I know my water intake has been low. Today, I put in about 100oz of water, and plan to keep at it, so I'm hoping it gets better. The plus (or minus) is that I've actually grown my nails out. I've been a biter since I was a little kid and then after surgery, just quit, just like that. So, I've got some nice long nails to scratch, er uh, gouge myself with...

Shannon, So glad you're feeling better. I've not experienced the itching, but I know all sorts of things can happen to different people, our bodies are all so different. I hope the increase in water helps and you're feeling even better, if that's possible! Congrats on feeling so much better! ~Wanda

Between 3 and 6 weeks I had some MAJOR itching... all over. Moreso right before bed, but I could scratch anywhere. And anywhere I scratched raised welts from my nails. Even after I cut my nails, I had huge red patches of skin from scratching. I just couldn't help it! My doctor told me to just take a Benedryl and hope it does the trick.. he was totally mystified. After about 3 weeks, it started to subside. I still have certain areas that get irritated now and then, but those three weeks were hell.

Shannon, I had surgery the same day you did. I've been a little itchy but I'm thinking my skin is dry and have been using lotion to help. Also, I think it may be because the skin was stretched so much and is now trying to shrink back. I've also been losing lots of hair. I'm hoping this will slow down soon. I'm so happy about feeling better! I'm diabetic and was taking 4 pills a day plus insulin shots. I'm OFF all my diabetes medications now! I feel the best I have in years! I'm happy to hear of your success. Congratulations! Jean 312/236/165
