WLS Effect on Spouse
I know, how could I have forgotten to say anything?! LOL! But, I did.
My husband is actually the one who suggested the surgery to me. I have a few friends who've had it done and he knew how absolutely miserable that I was with my weight (at the time I was around 365) and how awful I felt and couldn't do anything that he said, "Ya know, it worked for ____, and _____, and ____. Is it something that you may consider?" *I* was actually the one completely against it. There was no way I was going to rearrange my insides when afterwards all that I was going to have to do was eat less and exercise! If I couldn't do that NOW (pre-op) then what's going to make me do it after?! Well, he never brought it up again. Then my very best friend had it done and she happened to live across the street from me. I was able to see her from the pre-op all the way to her goal weight and see that it wasn't all that bad. So, when we moved here to WA in December, I began to check it out. My husband was shocked. He said, "I thought you said you weren't going to do it!" But he was all for it because of how miserable he knew that I was. He was a bit cautious a few times when he'd read certain things, but never told me not to do it. He was and still is my biggest supporter.
