Didn't win the EMMY Tonight
Well, my boss, the Post Production sound team, and I were nominated for a Creative Emmy for Sound Mixing for the show LOST, which was presented at the Shrine Auditorium in LA tonight. We lost to the show "24", (Good Show). As my weight loss has been VERY SLOW, this is just another small set-back. I'm sure I'll be a winner soon. The Emmy's with the Stars airs next Sunday; although should you care to see the nominees and winners of the behind the scenes people, tune into E Entertainment next Saturday (not sure of the time, check your local listings). Oh, yeah, I was really good at the banquet, the menu was:
First Course: Smoked Salmon Feuillatine with Asparagus and Green Goddess Dressing. I had three small bites, no Green Goddess).
Entree: Chateoubriand Besrnaise, Torte Forstiere (sauteed mushrooms in a baked pastry tart), Spinach Florentine (three bites of the steak, one of the torte, and one of the spinach).
Dessert: "Unflamed" Black and White Baked Alaska (okay, two bites).
George Lopez was the Host, and a very pregnant Jennifer Garner Alflack was a presenter (she looks amazing!).
It's 12:13ish PDT and I just got home, the event started at 5 p.m. I'm sure a good time was had by all, thanks for listening (reading) my ramblings. Best -- CQ
Congratulations on the nomination. What a cool job!
My daughter and I have been catching LOST in reruns all summer. We have to rent the DVD so we can catch the ones we missed before the new season starts next week.
You are a winner though. Just look at the net effect since surgery. Don't now how many lbs. you have lost, but you could have lost none of it and gained even more since May. You will be fine.
Take care,
J

Hi Clare, What an amazing honor to be nominated! Sorry you didn't win, It must hurt to have so hoped for that Emmy. Your teams work must have been outstanding to get such recognition. You can be VERY proud! God Bless ya, dissappointment is so tough.
We give ya a big three cheers for your wise food choices at the banquet. Sounds like wonderful food!
Glad you are among us post-ops. We wish you a continued success. I for one am a slow loser also, so hang in there...we will make it. Especially after a set back - keep in touch so the rest of us can offer a little support and maybe say a few little prayers for each other.
We can't do it alone. Support is a little gift we give each other.
