Treated like a real person at Gold's Gym
I went today to find out about membership. They have a pool and I really want to take water aerobics.
The cute bouncy girl at the desk was genuinely nice. She gave me a tour and talked to me as if I really belonged there.
She didn't look at me with pity for my weight problem. I have noticed this in some other stores recently.
Just one more benefit of getting healthy!!

For some reason, lately I feel as though I'm getting closer to being what people perceive as 'normal.' Even seeing my shadow in the parking lot today, I'm shocked at the changes in my body shape. I'm at 219... which is still considerably overweight, but I still think of myself as though I'm 275. I'm continuously having these 'you're almost normal' thoughts.
Kinda crazy but true! I know that I am being treated with a little more respect, (and that is sad beings I am the same person). But, I also noticed that men hold the door for me now, rather than letting lit slam in my face because I am not blonde and petite with big boobs!!!! (no offense to anyone who may look like that)!! One thing I do know, when I see very heavy people, I treat them exactly the way I wanted to be treated when I was there!!! And I hope I always will.
Girrrrrrl! I totally know what you mean! I've been treated like a normal person more and more frequently lately, and sometimes I even forget I'm big ****il I see a picture of myself - it seems someone always has a camera these days, and they all point them at EM....BUMMER!). I've even been flirted with - TWICE!!!! My husband laughs beause I was absolutely astounded the first time it happened. I didn't even realize it until he pointed it out to me...I thought the guy was being friendly. And what makes it better is that he was a 20-something hottie!!!! WOW! ME! GETTING FLIRTED WITH!!!! OH. MY. GOSH.
We all rock! I'm so proud of each and everyone of you!!!!
