Me...I wish I were hairier. On my head, that is. Hair loss started a month ago and is progressing. Ah, what fun! I've had this before and it will get better. Lost 70 lbs on WW years back and lost my hair exactly the same way. It did fix itself. Patience and time will fix it. Kathy

Jem, I'm losing hair too! A little each time I'm in the shower. I'm praying it slows down SOON! ~Wanda

Alas, it is my turn also in the losing hair department. I hear scary stories of people who lose half or even more of their hair. My hair is very fine and thin to begin with so I'm very scared! I've always gotten my protein in but I hear it's much more than that...just stress, our body is freaking out! I did however buy the Nioxin stuff. Just to give my hair a break, I only wash every other or every 3rd day so it's not handled as much. My hair is long and I usually wash daily, flat iron, blow out, etc. daily. I don't know if it helps but it gives me peace of mind. My brother, who does my hair, says it's just gonna fall out and there's not much I can do. He actually suggests me using a hair thickening shampoo to enhance what I have now vs. the Nioxin stuff. I bought both and I'm using both. My husband hasn't noticed it but I did show him how much came out last night after I wide-tooth combed it. He was shocked. I think this is a tough part for all of us gals even though we all knew the possibilities. But we dont' have to like it!!! lol All of us obviously love what the weight loss is doing to the rest of our bodies sans the hairloss. Thanks for sharing Jem!

I am in "hair losing denial". My husband said he noticed lots of hair in the bathroom sink...and I replied "oh, no more than I every lost"...which was a BIG FAT DENIAL LIE!!!. I have thin hair also so, eeeeekss...hopefully the bald look will be in this Winter!!!

Okay, UPDATE! NO more denial. After I wrote the above post I took a shower and when combing my hair out, it was all in the sink!!!! I then put Mouse in my hair and had big handfuls entwined around all my fingers...ooooohhhh! I hope this does stop soon, I may be wig shopping this weekend!!

Gotta join in with ya all, Hair is coming out fast here too. A friend who had her surgery a few yrs ago suggested not brushing or combing the hair while it is wet because it seems to pull it out easier/faster. Sure hope it will grow back! Been trying to work the top hair with curls so the scalp doesn't show thru as much. It is a little scary isn't it? Ever remember seeing those guys who are balding and do the comb over thing to 'look like' they have hair on the top? Guess if ya have to walk a mile in someones shoes to experience the humiliation of hair loss... It isn't funny and hurts the pride some. M.

My animals think there's another pet in the house, because they keep finding all of this hair everywhere. Since I don't have carpet, it rolls around on the floor into giant tumbleweed hairballs. When I get home, I find gremlins all over. Apparently, they multiply with air. At least we're all in it together. Julie

My hair has been very, very thin for years & a big worry I had before WLS was anymore hair loss. I figured I'd just go buy wigs if it ALL fell out. My daughter had WLS in Dec. '03 and lost HUGE amounts of hair within the first year. Anyway, she recommended the Nutri-Ox System from Naturelle whi*****ludes the Nutri Basics Shampoo & Nutri-Treatment Step 2 which I started using before my surgery. These products are the equivalent of Nioxin & can be purchased at Sally Beauty Supply for half the cost of Nioxin. Their website is: www.zotos.com I haven't lost any hair. As a matter of fact, I actually think I'm getting "new growth." That doesn't mean it won't fall out at a later date (God forbid), but until then I faithfully use the stuff & take Biotin & protein. I started using Nioxin about 10 days ago and it's really, truly working for me! I have tons of new baby hair sprouting from my scalp. I really thought I was gonna go bald! I paid $80 for the shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment, but it was so worth it to me!
