Pain!

Ok, so I am sleeping, and at 2AM this morning, I wake up to throbbing waves of pain in my stomach area, right in the center. I have also noticed some tenderness on/around my largest scar since Wednesday. I am suppose to go on vacation (flying to North Carolina) on Monday. I am going to call my doctor, when it opens, but wanted to know if anyone has experienced anything like this. I had lap RNY on May 16th. Have not had any problems thus far.

Carol, Never had pain to wake me up out of my sleep, but I have been experiencing incision tenderness...keep us posted and feel better!

Ok, things are better: First let me clarify. The pain lasted about an hour, I didn't say that on my first post. My doctor called me ( I like him for calling me back so quickly!) He said that since this was the first time I ever felt this he doesn't think its necessary for me to go in yet. He said it could be an ulcer, it could have been a twisted bowel that untwisted, it could be that my bowels are twisted around scar tissue and it freed itself. He said the tender area around the scar is not abnormal. He is leaning more toward the ulcer, and because I have Barret's already, take the prilosec and if the pain comes back again, I'll have to fo for tests.He suggested that I double up on my prilosec while I am on vacation just to be safe. I am not thinking ulcer, because it didn't feel like it was IN my stomach, but in the skin and stuff near my stomach area. But I reported it like a good little WLS patient, and I won't worry about it now.

Nope, the only pain I have been experiencing lately is when I have gas....ooooooohhhh it hurts bad. But when I finally get it out (hee hee)....I feel so much better, but those around me...probably not!! Hope you do okay on your vacation. I will be flying there in November..can't wait!
