Whatcha doing for Exercise?
Hi, its fun to see what everyone does for exercise. Here is mine:
Mon, Wed, Saturday walk on treadmill 40 to 60 min using a HR monitor to keep in the zone.
Tues, Thurs, Work with trainer on weights
Friday Pilates class
Saturday Weights on my own in addition to treadmill
Sunday Hydro cycle class, I sometimes do this on Wednesday for an extra workout as well.
I go to the gym around 5:30 am on weekdays before work.
I started walking on my treadmill at two weeks out, very slow and not for long at a time though. I still walk on it about 4-5 days a week for about 45 minutes. I try to run some on it too. When I get done theres that ring of sweat around my shirt, makes me feel so good when I see it, makes me feel like I worked really hard. Is that silly? My house is a basic gym. I have every piece of equipment you could imagine so if I get bored I just choose a different piece for a few days. I guess Im glad Ive collected it over the years because now Im actually using it. I need to start doing something for these bat wings, they are awful!

Walking and more walking. I also swim alot and do water exercises. With the heat it is too hot to walk during the day so after dinner I take off and usually the kids go with me. It is our time with no tv, video games, phones or anything else. It gives us time to talk about our day and anything that is bothering them.
Don't really have an exercise plan, just do what feels right for that day. Listening to my body and doing what it thinks is best is a biggie for me right now.

Wow you guys. I don't do a darned thing. I have THOUGHT about going to the local YMCA... and have THOUGHT about going for a walk once n awhile... but feel too blah... and unmotivated. I think it's because I've been so used to not being ABLE to do anything... I just don't. It's like the weight loss... I know I've lost, but I don't really SEE it yet... only in my neck cause a necklace my mom gave me last year fits me now... so apparently I've lost 61.5 pounds of neck. :D

I know what you mean about the whole excersize thing. I was walking my neighborhood with my husband, but then it got up to 100 degrees here this summer, so i stopped. My husband got us some great bikes and we like to ride them in the evening. It has been to hot for that too. I swear i thought i was going to have a heart attack going up a hill. But once the temperature starts going down i am going riding! I would recommend a pedometer and just increase your walking . It works for me. I am aiming for 10,000 steps a day. You just increase your steps per day and dont think of it at excersize. That little thing is actually pretty motivating. I am at work and i look down at it and think" can i get a hundred more steps in the next thirty minutes?" and then i do it. You can get some small free weights and work your arms here and there and before you know it< your excersizing! :0)

I have a membership at the Amerihost Inn and go do an hour of laps and water aerobics in the morning. I use ankle weights, a jogging belt, and water dumbells. During the day I do spurts of aerobic housecleaning and always running and running errands. I go back to the pool for two hours more of swimming, running in the pool, weight machine and use my 5 lb hand weights during that work out.
I had my surgery May 6th and have lost 110 pounds which I believe has come off so quickly because of my swimming. So far everything is staying nice and firmly intact. I am sure I will need a tummy tuck down the road, but I am happy with the results of my arms and legs right now.
Keep up the good work everyone.
Love and Hugs,
Laura
