After about 12 weeks I decided it was time to get serious about exercise. I had been walking my dog and doing little things. But nothing to big. So now I have moved my treadmill slap in the middle of my living room. It just wasnt getting any use in my guest bedroom. I had use it when it was in my bedroom but had to move it when I got new furniture about 3 years ago. Now I have gone 2-3 miles 5 days a week for 2 weeks. I just pop a DVD in and start walking. Having my daughter in school all day has definetly helped. I can already feel the positive effects on my sleep energy and weight. Hope everyone can find some exercise that they can tolerate! I doubt I will ever be addicted to exercise but I can try! Jen 243/192/135

Well, I'm a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom so I have my kids with me 24/7. My hubby works until around 3 p.m. M, Th, and Fri and about 10:30-noon (depending on the day) T and W. My kids are 12 and 7, so we can usually leave them alone for 2 hours while I go to the gym. My routine HAS been every other day (without fail) going to the gym and doing 40-50 minutes of cardio (mostly on the stationary bike - about 30 min. and 15-20 min of treadmill) and a little over an hour of weights. I was doing my full body at a time - upper and lower - and since you can't do that everyday, you need a day of rest in between, I've only been going every other day. Which means on the opposite days, I usually wasn't doing anything. So, I decided to change it up and (as of today) doing either upper or lower body one day and the other one the other. That will get me to the gym everyday doing cardio everyday and weights on opposite parts of my bod. Did that make any sense?? As far as being addicted, let me tell you - I NEVER thought I would enjoy going to the gym, but I really, really do. I've been very faithfully going the entire month of August and I really, really, really love going now. I feel so much better and I can feel muscles in various parts of my body - it's soooo cool!! I want a big, buff, athletic body. (Think Venus or Serena Williams.) I want to be able to see definition and muscle tone in my bod!!! But, that's just me! Michelle

My routine is similar to Michelle's - cardio every day with alternating upper and lower body weight training. I work out six days per week and am quickly becoming addicted. I LOVE the way I feel physically and emotionally after a good rigorous workout! - Tracy 303/230/135

Jen - I'm not a great example for exercise but I started walking in the hospital and kept going. (except when I was sick) I've had a hard time getting back going since being sick though. I just got ankle weights for my birthday, and an mp3 player to walk with. I also bought hand weights to work on my upper arm (bat wings) a little bit. In the winter, I'll be using my gazelle machine instead of outside walking and we're getting a membership to our local recreation center for Christmas so then I can take my homeschooled kids up and play basket ball, swim, walk the track, etc..... Now that I can see a weight loss, I see I really NEED to tone up!!!!!!!! Laurie

I walk everyday. I try to ride an exercise bike every day. I do resistance training every week day, and I do weight training 3 days per week. I do exercise DVD work outs and swim on the weekends. I walk extra whenever I get the opportunity. Julie

Jen, Like you, it took me to about week 12 to get serious about an exercise routine. But, I am finally doing it. I walk 5 days a week for 40 minutes. I go to water aerobics 2 days a week. I just started strength training, which for the first month will only be 2 days a week. I meet with a trainer early tomorrow morning to make sure my routine is appropriate. I plan on meeting with him every 5 or 6 weeks. Anyway, I'm feeling good and now that I'm doing it, it hasn't been that hard to get to doing it. But, I've found, I have to do it in the early morning or it is too easy not to do. Lori 384/313/170

Wow, I am so impressed with everyone's workout routine. I mainly just walk. And most important, I keep myself busy all day. Since moving into this house I have had many projects to do, from painting to redoing kitchen cabinets, etc. I love to walk and know it is one thing that is not too hard on your muscles. Maybe Santa will bring me a treadmill this year, but if not, I will just be happy using my two legs to get around!!

On a good day I'll do an hr of cardio in the form of the eliptical or treadmill, then about 20 min of weight training. Unfortunately I haven't had a good day in a very long time...
