I'm Hungry!
I can't believe it! For the past week, I've been hungry and it's been really hard to stick to my 3 meals per day. I've increased my activity level which could be part of it and it's been hard for me to get all my water in which could also contribute to it.
I also haven't lost anything for almost a week. I have my 3 month check up on Wednesday. Is this normal?
I'm still having issues with meat - terrible pain and then it comes back up. I chew it until it's pulp, but that doesn't help. Protein has been from dairy products and beans, but that's getting old.
I used to be okay with fish and seafood and now they're not agreeing with me too! I'm getting frustrated. Any words of wisdom to help me through this?

Jean, I'm one of those unfortunates who's been hungry since pretty much day 1. (Well, I think it was more like day 10...but close )
I eat more than 3 times a day. I think it averages out to like five times/day. But, my meals are like:
B: 2 string cheese
L: 2/5 - 3 oz of tuna fish and about 2-3 wheat thin crisps
S: 1 oz of cheese and 2 crackers or protein shake
D: whatever the family is having (about 1/2 cup)
S: protein shake
So...my meals are small, but I eat more than 3 times/day. It works for me! I just make sure that I'm not eating sooner than every 3 hours. If it's been fewer than 3 hours then I drink, drink, drink!!

Hey, Jean - mostly I drink the Isopure Dutch Chocolate. It is really yummy and (to me) no 'protein' flavor. I usually add a scoop (which is 25 grams/protein and about 107 calories, very low carbs, and I believe fat free) to 6-8 oz of vanilla soy milk (I'm lactose intolerant since surgery) and it's fine. It may still have a few lumps in it, but they don't taste icky. Sometimes I'll put it in the blender with some frozen strawberries, blueberries, or banana. That makes it really yummy!!!
Sometimes I'll use the EAS Vanilla, but it's not as good and can only be blended with some sort of fruit - it's icky by itself (to me) and is a lot more calories - like 20 grams/protein and 120 calories per scoop.

First off, on Wed I would ask your surgeon/nutritionist how many calories a day you should be eating. You may be suprised that they want you to eat more and maybe want you to snack. I too try to just eat 3 meals a day + 1 prot shake. But, there are times that I want to snack. I personaly feel that its my body telling me that it needs it. Usualy its 1 to 1.5 weeks before my period and I always try to snack on something w/ protein. As far as the upset pouch talk to your surgeon/nutritionist for some suggestions.
Isn't it funny how hard food is to figure out. I don't eat that much. I only eat twice a day. I can't eat anything at breakfast. I don't know why. I have tried every thing in the book and nothing feels good at the morning hour. I have also noticed that foods i could tolerate make me sick now. I loved cheese and milk at three weeks cause protein shakes made me so sick , that those were the only things i could eat . Have you tried ground turkey breast or chicken? they work pretty good for me, but i still can't eat sandwhich meat. It is so weird why some things just work and others don't . I am losing my hair now too. I know i need to eat more protein, but most meats make me queasy and i just feel so crummy for two hours afterwards, that i avoid them . good luck.
