How are your incisions?
I am about 14 weeks out and feel that my lap incisions have healed quite well. My drain site looks even better. I had a c section in 1998 and I can't even see where that incision was (actually it is the first time I have been able to even see it in years...LOL) so I hope these will fade out just the same.
I used Mederma for about 3-4 weeks. I wasn't very good at remembering and don't know if it even helped. The incision to the side and below my belly button looks the worse. Just not as approximated as the others. I told my husband that if I am ever fit enough to wear something that will show that low down I will tatoo it!
How does your surgical site look at this point in time?
Thanks....................Jen
I had open, so I've got about a 4" incision from my breast bone down. It's kind of a dark pink color and a bit raised - almost like a very small keloid - and I've got these little dots all up and down the side of it from the staples. I've been putting some Vit. E on it - don't know if it's helping or not, but I've considered tattooing it after I have a tummy tuck, too!

Well, honestly my tummy has never been open to public viewing (at least not since I was in my teens). I have lots of stretch marks (or badges of honor) as my husband calls them from my 3 beautiful children. Then a year before WLS I had my gallbladder removed laproscopically so I have a little road map on my tummy. (but less tummy!!!!!!).
hey jen,
I had lap gall bladder removal two weeks before lap rny so I have like 9 small incisions all across my belly and one inside my belly button. You could play connect the dots or something. They are still quite red and raised but Im hoping with time they will diminish in color and appearance. I have a gazillion stretch marks but they are nonexistent since Ive lost 58 pounds. Ive never been one to show off my belly so Im not worried about it that much anyway.
