How many pounds? Am I doing something wrong?
Gina,
I had my RNY a couple of days before you and I'm down 44 lbs thus far. (I lost 32 lbs the 3 months prior to surgery though so I'm down 76 lbs overall.)
I think you are doing fine. As folks said...alot has to do with where you started from and just how your individual body is working.
How about posting what a typical day's food for you is with quantities? Sometimes upping your protein intake or water intake gets things moving faster.

Thanks for posting this....I too was starting to feel like I was doing something wrong also.
I started at 235 day of surgery and I am only down to 194. I was just thinking that it was because of all my complications but now I know I am in the "same boat as everyone else".
Thanks for asking this question.....it sure has put my mind to ease!

I am so glad to have someone else to identify with on this subject. I am a little over 3 months out and I am down 42 lbs. I too thought I would have lost a lot more but I have 119 to lose (only 77 lbs to goal) so I guess I am doing okay.
Thanks to everyone for keeping me inspired

Gina your doing great.
I lost 120 lbs in 3 months, all post op. I put on 10 lbs pre op. I was also 604 lbs going into surgery, to be honest, if i could give up my 120 lbs lost, in exchange for 50lbs lost and have had started at 300, i would do it every day. because ive still got 210 plus lbs to loose.
keep up the good work, n as long as your loosing clothes sizes, your still doing good.
Hi Gina,
The challenge was back around the 16th of the Month. Looking at your stats you are doing better than average.
You want to loose 139 pounds
You have already lost 56 lbs
that is over 40%......
I want to loose 190 pounds
I have lost 63 lbs
that is over 33%.....
Do you see how the actual pounds are not as important than the WHOLE Journey.
Keep up the GREAT work.... and think about what you are going to do to celebrate 70 pounds lost... that's your half way point and you will be there before you know it....

Tracy,
We're not doing fine... We are doing AWESOME.
My opinion, (and you know what they say about opinions).... is that we should use our start, current and goal.... I consider the "start" to be our pre-op weight or if you'd like, the heaviest you've been.
Due to a crazy bout with "last supper syndrome", I gained 15 pounds between the time I got a surgery date and my pre-op exam. This little trip to muchville put me over the 300 mark to 313 (for the first, last, and only time in my life)....
I weighed in at 250 on Tuesday (my three month anniversary). I can't remember the last time I weighed 250.... probably 20 years ago... I've set a pretty steep goal of 125. If I get to 150 I'll be thrilled.
Just a trip to One-derland is going to give me cause to celebrate.
Why didn't I look into WLS 10 years ago?.... It's not that I haven't enjoyed my life so far... but think of the wear and tear I could have saved on my ankles and knees...
Oh well.. hind sight is 20/20.
Keep in touch...
