PCP so Happy with Me!!!

I had my yearly physical today and first time after my surgery on 5/10/05. I'm doing great!! I'm down 53 pounds; Off diabetes meds (Glucophage 2 g a day and Avandia 4 mg). My A1C is 5.9 (it was 8.6 last year in August); My pressure was perfect 120/77 (mind you I worked today and had a terrible, stressful day); Total cholesterol is 180 (0-200 is normal). My good cholesterol is a little low, and my triglycerides dropped from 1180 to 238! My liver and kidney functions are normal; I'm not anemic; Did I say I feel great!?!?! Thank God for this surgery. Last year around this time I thought I was going to have a heart attack! I have literally saved my life!! Becky

You look sooooo hot in that picture, girl! I can't believe how great you look! Doesn't it feel great to have a GOOD physical for once? I had mine about a week or two ago. My PCP was thrilled with my results to date. My blood pressure was right on and I'm off all of my pre-op meds. He wanted to know everything so he could pass information along to his other patients. I made sure he documented my rashes so when it's time to consider plastic surgery, it's been documented from the beginning. I'm with you...thank God for this surgery! Julie

Thanks Julie!! So far no skin rashes, but if I loose about 10 more pounds, I think they'll start.. especially that I'm moving to warmer climates!! YIKES!! But yes it did feel good to have such a great physical. I also thanked him for listening to me when I asked how he felt about WLS and when he said I was a perfect candidate, he made the referral and I was on my way. I can say it's been a wonderful journey for me!

at "hubby".. that's my cousin.. but that's my fault. I didn't specify!! hehehehe.. sometimes I think he wishes he was my hubby though!! lol.. Glad to hear you're doing good too!!

OMG!!!!! You look AMAZING!!!!!!!!! I am so proud of you! I go to see my surgeon tomorrow and I'm sooo worried cuz I've only lost 25 pounds since my last visit. But, I've lost a total of 32 inches!! Hopefully he'll be happy!! And, I can repeat your "I feel great"!!!! I do, too!! Michelle

Thanks Michelle!! 25 pounds?? and when was your last visit? I think that's great!! I'm loosing between 4-8 pounds between visits. I don't have a scale and won't get one due to the fact that I don't want to become a "scale junkie" But I'm happy with every pound I do lose no matter how long it's taken me. I just try to remember that everyone loses differently and I can't say I've been the best at exercising But I've noticed since I'm eating more (every 4 hours I get hungry) I've been losing more too. Good job on your weight loss and I'm sure your doc will be pleased too, as well as yourself!! Becky
