Very Discouraged.....
Hi there everyone......give me a minute to whine and feel sorry for myself, k?
The scale moved one pound two days ago........but the one pound came back today........sooooooooooooooooo essentially my friggen scale has not moved in over 4 weeks.
Its not a plateau......its a friggen CANYON! I cant stand it any more. Im horribly discouraged and getting depressed. I have upped my water intake and my protein. Nothing else I can really do.
SOMEONE SHOOT ME NOW! Before I regret this surgery!
Im gonna go take a bath .....that is....if I can fit in the dang tub!
Carrie
Awwwww Carrie, I know you're very discouraged and I'm glad you vented on us. It's important to share your feelings where it's safe to do so. I hope you're enjoying your bath and it relaxes you. I know you're tired of waiting and hanging in there, but I'm confident it will pay off in the long run. You are such an attractive woman, and have a lot going for you. Take a few moments to relax and I'm sure that scale will move again very very soon.
Let us know how you're doing!
Hugs to you,
Wanda
I know how you feel. I just started losing again after almost 4 weeks. Ya know what I did? I took a week off. I didn't do the right protien, ate more that I should have, and didn't exercise. I was on vacation, visiting family, so I didn't have much of a choice, but I lost 5lbs the following week when I got back on track and have lost 4 more the last 2 weeks. Still not as much as I'd like, but the vacation helped. Then I upped my execise, too. If you can work out twice a day, it helps to keep up your metabolism. It sucks, but it just might work.
I feel your pain.............I feel like I am the slowest loser on this board. At 3 months out I have lost a whooping 42 lbs. I know that it is great I just wi**** was more. I hit my first plateau at about 4 weeks out and it lasted a good 4 weeks. I have started to lose again just not at the rate I had wanted. Hang in there these plateaus will go away soon. Enjoy your bath and you can whine anytime with us, that is what we are here for.

Carrie,
I know you're discouraged, but try not to let it get you too down. Have you measured yourself lately? Just because you're not losing weight doesn't mean you're not losing inches.
Also, how much/what are you eating? I've found that if I up my calories some, I lose more. If I don't eat enough, my weightloss slows or stops.
You'll be leaping over that canyon before you know it. Don't give up on yourself!
Carrie, do you mind me asking how many calories, fat grams & carbs you are getting in each day? I haven't lost anything in almost 2 weeks. I had surgery on May 2nd, & to date I have lost 71lbs, but it is getting so slow. I am not getting in enough water or protein & I know that has alot to do with it. Thanks
Tammy G.
Carrie, I feel your pain. Because of a stricture my body went in to starvation mode and has refused to come out of it. But I look at it this way. I did not get to 385 in one day and I am not going to get to 170 in another. Your body will do what it is going to do. Stressing over it is just going to make you crazy.
Take a bath, look in the mirror and be glad the weight you have lost is gone. You are a beautiful person. Remember that.

Carrie~
I think we've all been there (at least most of us). Don't worry...it'll happen. My stall lasted about 4 weeks. The scale went up more than it went down, and if it went down half a pound, it would be up two pounds the next day. I was ready to throw the blasted thing out the window! Trust me.
I have no idea which thing made the stall disappear. I'll tell you what changes I made immediately before it ended, and maybe something will help.
I took care of my constipation (sorry, I know it's TMI, but hey, it's what I did, and besides, we all )with a little friend I like to call MOM (Milk of Magnesia). I also did something completely different with my exercising. Instead of my usual walking and gym training, I brought home an exercise DVD (Bellydancing: Hip Hop Hip Drop). It was a tough routine for me, but it was a lot of fun. I also upped my calorie intake for a few days and started drinking about twice as much water (not just fluids...but actual water). After that weekend, I was down 4 pounds, and the loss hasn't stopped since!
I have no idea which thing worked, or if they all worked together, but whatever it was kicked things into gear for me.
Good luck, Carrie. You deserve success!
