3 Months Today
I'm now three months out!!! I'm down 71 pounds. I'm having problems with my lungs and phlem and coughing all the time. This makes it hard to eat!!! But considering my complication I think I've done great!!!
I've had people that know me not recognize me at all!! (that's a strange feeling). My youngest son (he's 8) says, "wow, mom you sure are getting skinny"
Even with complications, this surgery has been the best thing for me.
I now wear a size large top. Haven't done that in 15 years!!!!!!!

Congrats Laurie! I am right there with ya! I am 3 months out and have lost 70 pounds as of today! I feel so wonderful. So much energy at a time when I really need it (moving tomorrow). My little 3 year old says "mommy...are you getting skinny"??....that is so cute. I think I will go try some new jeans on today...who knows..maybe I can finally buy a size smaller.
What do the doctors say about your problems with the coughing and the phlegm? I'm very curious!
Julie Well it's been five weeks of this, four differnt doctors (including my surgeon's office) and no REAL answers.
My pcp yesterday, gave me a shot of Decadron to open up the airways in my lungs so I could breathe better. It worked good yesterday but today I'm back the same coughing and weasing, gasping for air.
He said that it is in my lungs. And if it's not better Monday, I'm off to a lung specialist. (doc number 5)
I got sick right after moving into a new rental house. I'm thinking that the damp, moldy, basement is the cause here. If it's getting in my lungs then I could be in trouble. Yes, I'm trying to find a nother place to live. Luckily for me I don't have a year lease so I can get out easily!!!
But other than that I'm doing pretty good!!
