My 7 yo Daughter Can Eat More!!!
Tonight I made "Pigs in a Blanket" (half a hot dog wrapped in a pillsbury biscut) and baked beans. A favorite of our family.
I ate one and then half a "pig with no blanket" and a 1/4 cup of beans. My daughter is presently eating her 4th Pig and her second helping of beans. I never thought I would see the day that I was full and my eat like a bird 48lb daughter would still be eating!!!
This is one of the very few dinners that I have had with my family since my surgery. I usually feed them and have a shake. With school starting back and me going to work only on weekends (i use to work 12 hour nights) I have made a goal of eating together as a family 3 nights a week so I better learn to cook low carb and still tasty for everyone. Time to go get a new cookbook!!.....................Jen
Jen that is awsome! I know how you feel. My three year old eat's more than me and i am just amazed. Especially when it comes to meet. I eat
1\4 of a sausage patty and he can eat 1 1\2. I have cruised the receipe boards online here and dame tooters sight for some tasty meals and written them down. That way I can fix them easier.
Jen,
There are some great WLS cookbooks I have been using. I got them all from Amazon.com. I'm at the office and don't know if I have the titles exactly right but, here is a stab at it.
"Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery"
"The Weight Loss Surgery Cookbook"
and there is one that is from a lady who sells her stuff here on Obesity Help. I think her name is Susan Maria (I'm sorry, I have a terrible memory.)
All three books have recipes the whole family can enjoy, but, also have the serving amounts you can eat with the nutritional breakdown so you can still keep track of your protein and carbs.
