Everyone told me to take my measurements before surgery...and I had full intentions of doing so....but I just never got around to it! I now sure wish I had. The scale hasnt moved in weeks but my clothes fit better and better every day. I guess I was about a 24+ squeezing into 20/22's now I am comfortable in 18/20. Some are even a bit baggy. Did any of you out there take measurments like you were advised to? Thanks.....Jen

Jen, Yes I did. And I'm glad I did. I was continuing to lose weight without losing inches and now that I've lost 65 lbs, I've suddenly lost inches...weird. I guess your body has to catch up somehow. Lori

No, I didn't. Like you, I wish I had. I didn't drop any weight for nearly four weeks. I'm sure I must've been losing inches, but I have no way of knowing for sure... Julie No more stall!

I did - I got my measurements about 2 weeks pre-op, at 6 weeks post-op, about a week or so ago, and will do them again tomorrow. The ones I did pre-op and at 6 weeks post-op were done by my trainer and she will do them again tomorrow. The ones I did about a week ago I did myself so I'm betting hers will be more reliable. I'm really glad that I did the measurements because it helps to have 2 different sources to see the difference.

Jen, Yes, I took measurements. Both my husband and my measurements are on my profile. Kathy

Jen, I didn't take any measurements prior to surgery. I guess I should have. I was at a plateau for about two weeks when the scale didn't move, but my clothes were getting loose! I'm going to take them tonight for sure! Jean

I sure did Jennifer. Per my doctors order I had to start a diary the night before including, preop photos, measurements, what my current diet was, mood, and current weight. I thought it really corny, but with the support of my best friend and some close friends the night before they through me a surprise support party and that was the big goal to complete the before process. I think that if they never had done this I would probably have procrastinated and not followed through with all of this. Now I am happy when I look back. There have been numerous times that the weight just hasn't come off very quickly but then I take my measurements and walla, more inches lost. I wish I could say I saw the clothing just falling off me, but you know the inches never quite come off where you want them to first. If anything though it gave me hope that the process is working, I am now down 60lbs, and 52inches overall and can see the big difference. Just because you didn't take your measurements before doesn't mean you can't start now. It certainly helps when the scale stops moving. I check my measurements every 7-14 days, there small increases in loss but they all add up in the big picture. I use fitday which helps you see you continuous progress which is cool and keeps me motivated. ---Sabrina
