I have a friend, Judy, who just had WLS this morning. The hospital that she is located in has a program that we can email her to show her support. What I need from you guys is to fill up this thread with words of encouragement and love that we have all grown to appreciate so much from this board. I will then copy this thread and email it to her this afternoon. I really appreciate your guy's help and I know that she will be grateful for any words of encouragment!

Judy, you have just begun an exciting journey into a new life. There will be some good days...some not so good days....but when you reach your goal you will thank God that you chose to live a happier and healthier life. May God grant you a quick Recovery.

Judy, Good luck to you. You are embarking on a new life - it will have it's peaks and valleys, but it is sooo worth it! Listen to your doctor and seek support from your wls friends on line. We're here for each other! Surgery 5/23/05, lost to date 65.5 pounds. I'm diabetic and am off my oral medications and take only one shot of insulin a day (20 units instead of 60 units). I should be off the insulin in another month. I'm also off my blood pressure medication! Things are looking up! Jean

Judy, You may not feel real great right now, but just give yourself a few weeks and you are going to be on your way to a whole new life. Not all of it is easy and its surely not the EASY way out that some people think. But it is a precious tool that if used correctly can give you a life you have only dreamt about. I had my lap RNY on May 6th and started out at 310 pounds the day of surgery. Here 3 months later I am at 206 pounds and feel the best I have felt in many years. I work out doing water aerobics every day and Love my new life. This past weekend was a milestone for me. I was able to ride a roller coaster and fit in the seat. It was my goal for the summer and I met it. The best of luck to you in your new journey on the losing side. Welcome.. Big Hugs Laura from Ohio
