I don't mean to violate anyone but my menstrual cycle just keeps going and going. I've been menstruating since July 13 and today is August 12. I don't know what to do and going to see the OBGYN on the 30th. Will the Pill help? Thanks in advance for any responses to this heartbreaking problem. Lynette Hall May 23, 2005 240/198/140

Hi Lynette, I am not sure if I can help you but I just wanted to say that I started the pill about a month ago, and I am not sure if the pill helps. Before my surgery I could count exactly 21 days in between cycles and it would last 4 days long, now I am anywhere from 18 to 25 days between cycles and the last one went for over a week. I am hoping that a couple more months on the pill will help regulate it but I am not sure.........hopefully someone else will be able to help us answer that question cause I would like to know also.

I was exactly the same way my whole life. Never any problems. Hopefully someone will see this and give us the magic BC pill to make everything back on track again. Lynette

The pill may help, it is honestly hard to say since as post ops we absorbe less. I know that menstation screw ups in the first few months after surgery are pretty common. I am starting to feel a little broke for the opposite reason as you...it has been 7 weeks since my last! Just wanted to offer you what little encouragement I could and say I am sure your doctor can help you more! Good Luck, Ellen

Well...As soon as I got home from my surgery, or the day after, I started my period....the worst part was I couldn't wipe myself...ewwww...so my husband and sister had the pleasure. Anyway, it was about a month I had a small one for about a day or two...then this month....i had 2 days of really bad bleeding and then poof!! it was done. So, needless to say...the surgery has made my cycle....psycho!!!! Let us know what your OB Gyn says..

I am sorry to hear that you are having the never ending period - I hope your dr can help you with that. My only problem since surgery has been inconsistent timing - first 1-1/2 months apart, then 4 weeks, now only 2 weeks!
