Yoplait Yogurt..What do you think
Hello Mayers
I purchased some 6oz Yoplait Light FF strawberry yogurt today (it was on sale) and thought that I would give it a try, but I was just curious to know has anyone tried this yogurt before? I'll probably make it out of two snacks, or just one meal...as 6oz is too much to consume at one time....
What do you think
Hi there!
In our program here yogurt is considered a fluid only because it doesnt stay in your system very long. It was great for the first month, but my doc has recommended that I eat more filling foods, things that will stick with me more at my meals. For a snack the yogurt is awesome though!
I know that Yoplait yogurts usually have a higher amt of sugar in them than most. I say whatever you like and works for you is what you should eat! I like the carb freedom blue bunny ones myself. I could eat 6 oz two weeks post op and freaked because I thought something was wrong and that I had stretched my pouch. But its liquids......and I eat slow anyhow.
Does that help at all? Just my 2 cents..........

Hi
I, too, have yogurt for breakast. Seems to be the only thing that sits well.
And, I, too, agree with the ladies, it is a sugar factor. I love the great value brand (walmart, 3/$1.00). I buy the light that has like 7g sugar. My nut says keep sugars at 10g or less, a WLS book I just finished says 16g (remember sweet 16). Any more sugar than that you risk the dumping syndrome and I am so determined NEVER to have that happen! I have tried the blue bunny and the Dannon Carb Option but find the walmart brand the best (in my humble opinion)
Check your sugar content, and if your pouch likes it I wouldn't change a thing. And it's good for your protein intake!!
Oh, and I can eat the full 6oz now.

I dont know if I have tried that one yet. I have yogurt every morning for breakfast too. When I go to the store I usually look at the sugar on all of them and check out which ones have 15gr of sugar or less and then I get the ones which are the cheapest. I just started having a whole 6oz cup in the morning to get more protein. Before I would split it into 2 breakfasts, but an extra 30-50 cals and 3-5g protein shouldent hurt. I have my 3 month appt w/my surgeon and Nut next week and I'll see what they say. I think that it will be fine because my Nut told me right after surgery that if all I could do for breakfast was a protein shake that she is fine with that because it is at least something for breakfast. P.S. I'm still looking for a shake that I can stand to get down. I also havent been able to find SF Carnation Instant Breakfast which I should like because the regular was so yummy before surgery!
